We have some Poland vs Saudi Arabia bet builder tips for you as the World Cup rumbles on. The results in this group on matchday one have really opened things up. Saudi Arabia will want to build on their big win over Argentina, while Poland are still looking for a win.

Saudi Arabia provided the shock of the tournament and one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history on matchday one. Their fans made the trip over to neighbouring Qatar to watch their team beat one of the tournament favourites.
Argentina were left surprised by Saudi Arabia’s organised high press. Herve Renard’s side had to dig deep at times but they managed to limit their world-famous opponents to very few clear chances. The Saudis now have a great chance of qualifying if they can build on their positive start against Poland.
The Poles were lacklustre against Mexico. They had the opportunity to pinch it from the penalty spot. However, their talisman Robert Lewandowski was unable to convert. They struggled to control possession and often resorted to looking to play on the counter.
Poland have many quality players in their team and they should be more inclined to attack in this game. Only three points will do with Argentina waiting for them in their final group match. They will need to provide better support for Lewandowski as he leads the line.
Poland will have to show more attacking intent than against Mexico but don’t expect them to lay siege to the Saudi goal. They are averaging just 8.29 shots per game in competitive matches in 2022. It was easy to see why in the last match. There was no attacking structure and Lewandowksi was crowded out by the opposition defence.
The Saudis managed to limit Argentina to just 14 shots. This was despite the fact they led the game after the 53rd minute. Their high press and reluctance to allow the opponent to pin them into their defensive third meant that the barrage of shots didn’t come.
Under 15.5 shots for Poland looks a good bet here given how both teams played in their opening match. The Poles have not exceeded the mark required for this bet to lose in the last 12 months.
Match throws are also appealing. Poland’s competitive matches in 2022 are averaging exactly 39. Saudi Arabia’s matches over the same period are averaging 46.8. The meeting with Argentina was the first time that 38 or more throws didn’t land in a Saudi match and that finished just one short. Poland aren’t as controlled in possession as the Argentines so Saudi Arabia should have greater success when hassling them.
