Sheffield Utd vs Wolves: Blades to hack away

England, Premier League, Saturday November 4th, 15:00 (UK)

Sheffield United have not had many must-win games yet this season, such is the nature of the division, but their meeting with Wolves at Bramall Lane this weekend is certainly of that ilk.

The Blades remain winless. They prop up the division with their solitary point. That draw did come in South Yorkshire, though. Against Everton, I would rank pretty evenly with Wanderers.

In his post-match presser, Sean Dyche hailed the physicality of the clash with Paul Heckingbottom’s outfit. There were only three cards, but there could have been plenty more, and I expect this clash to be played in a similar vein.

Sheff United have won the card count in all but two of their fixtures and, with a distinct lack of quality amongst their ranks, will have to look to draw on the fundamentals to hustle results, the cliche fighting spirit.

Backing the hosts to win the card count on the Asian line appeals here, knowing if it is a draw, we get a push.

Manchester City vs Bournemouth: Cherries pack a punch

England, Premier League, Saturday November 4th, 15:00 (UK)

Bournemouth were unfortunate to lose out to Liverpool on Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup, Darwin Nunez’s wonder strike proving to be the difference between the sides on the South Coast.

Despite the defeat, the last two Cherries performances will give Andoni Iraola some encouragement. The Cherries edged out fellow strugglers Burnley last weekend, their first win of the campaign, which hoisted them out of the relegation zone, though they remain firmly embroiled in a relegation fight.

Bournemouth are currently 29.00 to get a result at the Etihad. They began the week at 26.00 and could continue to drift up until kick-off in Manchester.

I am not saying their astronomical price is unjust, but the visitors certainly have enough quality to cause Manchester City some issues this Saturday.

In their domestic trip to Anfield, they started quickly, having a goal disallowed before Antoine Semenyo put them in front within the first three minutes.

Their Spanish supremo does have a pedigree with this calibre of fixture. During his time at Real Vallecano, in his two seasons in La Liga, Irola’s side won four of the eight games with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Pep Guardiola’s side have shown some defensive vulnerability as well, conceding in 12 of their 16 games this campaign with Young Boys, RB Leipzig and Wolves finding the net against them recently.

Luton vs Liverpool: Kenny Chaos

England, Premier League, Saturday November 5th, 16:30 (UK)

Rob Edwards called for his side to show more fighting spirit if they are going to stand any chance of survival, and he has certainly got a response.

The Hatters conceded seven in their opening two games, with their only goal coming from the spot. Since then, they have picked up five points in eight games, and only Aston Villa have beaten them by more than a one-goal margin.

The Hatters failed to capitalise on man advantages against Wolves and Tottenham but showed great spirit to come from a goal behind to rescue a point at the City Ground, Chiedozie Ogbene and Elijah Adebayo each scoring within the last seven minutes.

It is difficult to see a side that is shipping two goals per game, keeping Liverpool at bay, but the Hatters could certainly bloody the Reds’ nose; they have scored in 75% of their league games since September.

The visitors’ chaotic style also lends itself to a goal-laden affair.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this campaign, conceding nine goals in seven games.

No doubt the visitors should win, but goals should be plentiful.

Word to the wise, if you make this bet in the bet builder, you are paid out if Liverpool go two goals to the good.
