Premier League Best Bets: Three Value Bets Across the Weekend

Premier League Best Bets: April 8th-9th
We’ve got Premier League best bets ahead of another full set of fixtures across the Easter Weekend in the UK. It was a disappointing tipping result in midweek. Zero for three is never good but the underlying data suggests I was on the right side of things. Perhaps relying on both Bournemouth and Chelsea to score a goal was a tad optimistic.

Man United vs Everton Preview
Saturday, April 8th, 12:30 (UK)
Manchester United host Everton aiming to keep their top four pursuit on track. Erk Ten Hag’s men have undone much of their progress in recent weeks. The gap between the Red Devils and 5th has disappeared and they have 10 big matches to secure a place in the Champions League for next season.
They welcome an Everton side that has found a second wind under Sean Dyche. The Toffees look dead but have clawed their way out of the bottom three with a return of 12 points from nine matches, only three fewer than they earned in the first 20 under Frank Lampard.
This fixture has been a little more even in recent years than many would suspect. It was 2-1 to the visitors when they met at Goodison Park for the reverse match back in October. The sides drew 1-1 in this exact fixture. Everton have only lost two of their last eight Premier League matches against the Red Devils.
Man United vs Everton Best Bet
The away handicap line was tempting but I’m looking at goals instead. Over 2.5 is the play – a figure that the vast majority of United’s home matches have surpassed this season. Only three clubs have had a higher percentage of their home games finish with over 2.5 goals than the Red Devils.
Everton usually score against United. They’ve done so in each of their last nine Premier League games against them. BTTS was an option, as was combining that with over 2.5 to really boost the odds up above evens. We’re being a little more conservative here.
- Selection: Over 2.5 Goals (TRACKED TIP)
- Best Odds: 1.81 (10Bet)
- Stakes: 8/10

Wolves vs Chelsea Preview
Saturday, April 8th, 15:00 (UK)
Wolves host Chelsea eager to pile further pressure on a club in turmoil. Julen Lopetegui has helped turn things around in the Midlands since taking charge. Wolves are still very much in the relegation scrap that seems to involve half the league. The fact that Lopetegui has been in charge for around a third of their Premier League matches but earned two-thirds of their season points total will give them some confidence.
And what to say about Chelsea? The Blues’ hierarchy ran out of patience with Graham Potter and dismissed the former Brighton boss this week. With no obvious replacement, it looks as if Chelsea will head into this one without a permanent manager. They’re struggling for goals, especially on the road. They’ve found the net just half of their last 10 Premier League away matches, winning one of them. Molineux isn’t the most difficult place to go but Wolves will be quietly confident.
Wolves vs Chelsea Best Bet
Chelsea are on course for a 51-point season if things continue. That would be just one point more than their disastrous 2015-16 outing that saw them finish 10th. There’s little on the pitch to suggest that things will turn around in the remaining nine matches for them. The Blues were better against Liverpool in midweek but poor finishing cost them what would have been a welcome win.
I expect them to struggle here against a Wolves side that improves for the biggest matches at home. They’ve won three of their last five at home in the league including games against Liverpool and Tottenham. The double chance is decent value.
- Selection: Wolves/Draw Double Chance (TRACKED TIP)
- Best Odds: 1.90 (10Bet)
- Stakes: 6/10
Liverpool vs Arsenal Preview
Sunday, April 9th, 16:30 (UK)
Arsenal travel to Anfield, the first of three massive away matches that will surely decide their Premier League title hopes. The Gunners haven’t won away at Liverpool in the league since 2012. Only one Gunners player who started that day is still at the club and he’s sat in the dugout.
Mikel Arteta’s hopes of winning a surprise Premier League title may well come down to these away fixtures. The Gunners have been imperious at the road this campaign but still have to travel to Manchester City and Newcastle after this Anfield game. Three defeats and that eight-point gap to 2nd-place City is extinguished.
It’s just a case of which Liverpool side shows up. Jurgen Klopp’s men haven’t won a Premier League match since they beat Manchester United 7-0 back in March. All three games were on the road and Klopp will take some solace from his side’s home form. At the time of writing, only Arsenal and City have earned more points at home this season than Liverpool. Add in the historical record of this fixture on Merseyside and the Liverpool fans will be confident of denting Arsenal’s title chances.
Liverpool vs Arsenal Best Bet
But I’m backing the Gunners. Arsenal just keep passing tests and were very much the better side in the reverse fixture against Liverpool back in October. The Gunners are in exceptional form with seven straight victories. They’re averaging 2.4 points per game on the road in the Premier League which is almost identical to their stats at home. I always look at the head-to-heads but these teams have changed so much over the last few years that the Gunners look the value play. You’re getting 2.55 odds for the league leaders to beat a side in 8th that has lost three on the spin.
- Selection: Arsenal to Win (TRACKED TIP)
- Best Odds: 2.55 (Unibet)
- Stakes: 8/10
Best odds available as at 16:30 on 5th April 2023. Odds may now differ.
