We’ve got more Premier League best bets ahead of another full weekend of action in England’s top flight. Today’s article focuses on four matches that take place this Saturday. We look at the goals line for league leaders Arsenal as they host an in-form Brentford side. The goals lines are attractive this week but we’ll start with Saturday’s early kickoff.

West Ham host Chelsea for a fixture that has been fruitful for the hosts in recent seasons. The Hammers have won on four of the last seven occasions they’ve played Chelsea. They only lost once.
It was 3-2 when the sides met at the London Stadium last season but a lot has changed since then. Most notably the Blues’ playing squad. It’s likely that only two of the back eight that started that day will retain their place in the lineup on Saturday.
This new-look Chelsea team is struggling right now. Struggling for goals and with a price tag acting like a millstone around their neck. They’re a goalless draw away from setting an unwanted club record for consecutive 0-0s.
The Hammers look great value to win this one. Chelsea are still very much a work in progress and David Moyes’ team need the points. A few recent defeats have titled their record away but the Hammers have generally been pretty solid at home. +0.25 Asian handicap for a fixture they’ve won four of the last seven editions of feels generous.

Arsenal host Brentford with potentially one eye on their title showdown with Manchester City next Wednesday. The Gunners are licking their wounds after Sean Dyche’s Everton handed them their first Premier League defeat for 14 matches. They now return to the Emirates where Mikel Arteta’s men have taken 25/27 points in the Premier League this season.
But Brentford will be tough competition. The Bees haven’t lost since October and a run of four wins in five has shot them up to 7th. Only Newcastle are on a longer unbeaten run than them in the Premier League. This recent run has been built on defensive solidity. Thomas Frank’s side have allowed just four goals in their last seven Premier League matches. All of those goals came in games against Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham.
Consecutive defeats in all competitions may have knocked Arsenal’s confidence but the bookies don’t think it will prevent them from winning this match. The Gunners are the major favourites with a -1.25 Asian handicap. I’m staying clear of that and instead looking at the goals line.
Brentford have kept three successive clean sheets with two of them coming on the road. That stat doesn’t take into account the opposition with games against Bournemouth, Leeds and Southampton. Before that run, Brentford had conceded in 23/24 away matches in the Premier League. BTTS landed in 17.
As impressive as Arsenal’s recent form has been at home, they’re still conceding plenty of goals. They’ve kept only two clean sheets in their last 14. Over 2.5 and BTTS landed in 11.

Crystal Palace host an in-form Brighton side eager to end a lengthy winless run. The Eagles have taken only five points from their last six fixtures – although the calibre of those matches may have an impact on that. They’ve faced Bournemouth, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United twice. A win over the Cherries and only one defeat by a margin of two or more goals isn’t bad considering.
While Brighton have caught the eye with their recent results. They’ve only lost two of their last nine and one of them came against league leaders Arsenal. Three wins from four has put them up to 6th with a decent chance of European football.
They’ll be wary of this one. Brighton have a poor record in the A23 Derby. The Eagles have only won one of their last eight away games against Palace. They haven’t beaten them in the Premier League in any of their last six.
So, it’s perhaps a surprise to see Crystal Palace at +0.5 in the Asian handicap market. That’s based more on Brighton’s recent performances than the history of this fixture. The hosts look good value but I’m staying clear of the Asian handicap line and instead looking at BTTS.
Both teams have scored in eight of the last nine Premier League matches between the two. BTTS has landed in seven of Brighton’s last eight on the road too. Most bookies can’t decide which way this one will go in terms of BTTS which means value.

It’s a relegation scrap and one that could take the Saints closer to the brink. Things aren’t right on the South Coast with Nathan Jones at the helm. Many thought the manager’s outburst last weekend would cost him his job. That didn’t happen but surely, things aren’t far away.
It’s a bad time to face Wolves. They’re a club that did change managers and it’s worked out tremendously well. Julen Lopetegui has turned things around for them. Their only defeats since the World Cup came against the two halves of Manchester. That 3-0 win over Liverpool last week drew attention to a team that is quietly stringing results together.
The stage is set for Wolves to pile the misery on Nathan Jones and co. Southampton haven’t won any of their last seven at home in the Premier League. They’ll also have to contend with a dire record in this fixture. Wolves have won each of their last four matches against Saints. I’m backing them to make it five from five. Especially at those odds.
Best odds available as at 15:30 on 9th February 2023. Odds may now differ.
