Matchday 6 is coming this weekend and we’ve got Premier League best bets for four of the ten fixtures. All 20 sides were in action during midweek and it’s a tight turnaround to get ready and firing for the weekend. It promises to be an interesting weekend of action with European football returning for many of the biggest sides next week.

Brentford host Leeds on Saturday in what will be a winnable match for both sides. Both clubs have started the season fairly strongly with new signings bedding in and plenty of points on the board. They’ve also both had one of the more eye-catching results of the season thus far with Brentford’s 4-0 demolition of Manchester United and Leeds’ 3-0 triumph over Chelsea.
Another parallel is that both clubs secured 1-1 draws in midweek. The Bees drew 1-1 away at Crystal Palace while Leeds split the points at home to Crystal Palace. Both sides have struggled to keep clean sheets this campaign with just one each so far. That will form the basis for my bet.
The goals market is the obvious pick here. The goals line is fairly low at 2.5 considering Yes on BTTS is around 1.60 with most bookies. Combining them both is my pick for this match which brings the odds up above evens. That was the case in both of the fixtures between these sides last season and I expect a repeat here.

Chelsea host West Ham for a London Derby that will have a big impact on the early trajectories of both sides. The Blues have struggled of late. It’s one win in four Premier League matches for Thomas Tuchel’s side who have once again dipped into the transfer market in an attempt to sure up their struggling defence. Wesley Fofana has completed his move to Stamford Bridge and should be in line for a start here.
If recent head-to-heads are anything to go by, Fofana will be needed. West Ham have notched up three wins from their last six meetings with Chelsea in the Premier League. Only one of those was at Stamford Bridge but the way Chelsea have played lately, they’ll fancy their chances.
I’m backing West Ham in this match. The Hammers started the season slowly but their performances have improved. That Asian line of Chelsea -1 just looks a little too generous to the hosts. The Blues may well win this match but even if they do take the points by a single goal, this bet still carries value.

Newcastle host Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon for a match that should show us which of these sides has the credentials to finish in the top half. The Magpies hadn’t lost before they showed up at Anfield in midweek. It was two wins and two draws from four before that late winner from Fabio Carvalho in midweek.
Crystal Palace have had ups and downs but have faced Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal in their opening five matches and still have five points on the board. That really should be seven points on the board after that disappointing late equaliser against Brentford in midweek.
It’s a fixture on a knife’s edge in the Premier League. Newcastle and Crystal Palace have each won three and drawn three of their nine most recent meetings in the league. The Magpies are expected to push high up the table and perhaps even push the top 6. The Eagles are capable of beating any side and could be up there too come May.
I’m giving the edge towards the visitors for this one. The hosts are the favourites with the Asian Handicap line set at Newcastle -0.5. I’m giving the benefit to the away side given those odds. It’s a match that could go either way and with Newcastle potentially facing some injury issues, the Eagles look like the value pick on Tyneside.

Tottenham host Fulham for another London Derby on Saturday afternoon. The Cottagers are getting them all out of the way early in the season. They’ve already faced Brentford and Arsenal and will host Chelsea after the game against Spurs.
It’s been a successful season for Fulham so far. They’ve already racked up over a quarter of the total points and goals they secured in their previous stint in the Premier League. It’s five goals in five for Aleksandar Mitrovic so far. For reference, he only bagged three in the whole of the 2020-21 season.
The goals have been raining in for Spurs ever since Antonio Conte took charge in North London. There has been over 2.5 goals in 12 of the 16 home Premier League matches Conte has overseen in North London. Each of their last three league matches have had under 2.5 but it’s time for that to change. Spurs usually play a little more open at home and that shouldn’t change against a newly-promoted side.
That’s why I’m going over on goals here. The underlying data suggests as much and so does the history of this fixture. Spurs are due a goalfest and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Fulham find the net as well. That gives this pick plenty of value.
