Norwich vs Chelsea Best Bet

Norwich welcome a Chelsea team that is recapturing some early-season form. Thomas Tuchel’s men look to have got over their mid-season slump and are building momentum going into the final stages of the season.

The Blues have won their last three Premier League matches without conceding a goal. They face a Norwich side that has lost four consecutive league games. The Canaries have scored only twice in their last four Premier League fixtures.

I’m expecting goals in this one, Mostly from the visitors. Chelsea found their goalscoring touch at the weekend with that 4-0 victory over Burnley. They face Norwich, Newcastle and Brentford in their next three Premier League matches. Players like Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic have found some form and I’m expecting them to secure another comfortable victory against the Canaries.

Southampton vs Newcastle Best Bet

Southampton’s recent run of good form caught up with them on the weekend. It was five games unbeaten before that 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa. The Saints now face a Newcastle side in a similar position. The Magpies are the form side in the Premier League with five wins and a draw in six. They’ve won more of their last six Premier League matches than they did in the 26 before then.

But all good things come to an end. I almost went against Newcastle’s form at the weekend as they spluttered past Brighton. That was the first of the last six matches in which Newcastle have had a lower xG than their oppoennts. That implies that the end of this run of form is coming. I think it will come here considering Southampton have lost only two of their last 20 home matches against Newcastle in the Premier League.

Wolves vs Watford Best Bet

This is a match between two teams going through difficult spells. Wolves’ form has plummeted in recent weeks with four defeats in six. That’s more than they lost in the 16 games before then. Leeds vs Aston Villa Best Bet

One of these sides underperformed expectations at the weekend and one greatly outperformed them. Leeds were left disappointed by their 1-0 defeat to Leicester at the King Power. New manager Jesse Marsch didn’t get the winning start he wanted but he usually saves it for the home fixtures. The American has won his first home match as manager of each of his three previous clubs.

They face an Aston Villa that secured an impressive 4-0 win over Southampton at the weekend. It’s two consecutive Premier League wins for Steven Gerrard’s men. Aston Villa haven’t won three on the trot in the league since October 2020.

I’m backing the hosts here. The underlying metrics showed an immediate turnaround in Leeds’ performance under Marsch despite that 1-0 defeat last weekend. They had an expected goal difference of +1.63. Leeds+0 is the bet here.
