Ahead of the new campaign, the PFA Player of the Year odds for 2023 odds have been revealed and there are familiar faces once again.  Last season’s winner, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane are among the usual suspects but it is City newcomer Erling Haaland who leads the way, according to bookmakers.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the PFA Player of the Year Odds and the top candidates predicted to win the award.

Premier League PFA Player of the Year Odds

  • De Bruyne player of the year odds – 9.00
  • Salah player of the year odds – 8.00
  • Haaland player of the year odds – 7.00
  • Son player of the year odds – 21.00
  • Kane player of the year odds  – 11.00

Kevin De Bruyne Player of the Year Betting Odds

The Belgian is not new to this award, having won it successively in the 2019/20 and the 2020/21 campaigns. He was tipped to make it a hat-trick of awards but was narrowly beaten by Mohamed Salah last time out.

It is no secret that winning the league title gives players the upper hand in this category and this is one reason De Bruyne will always be in the mix, asides his brilliant individual performances. Infact, either De Bruyne or Salah has won the PFA Player of the Year award in four out of the past five seasons.

City are the favourites to win the league once again and it makes sense backing De Bruyne to enjoy another influential campaign. the De Bruyne PFA Player of the Year Odds are 9.00 and it is a tempting value pick to go with.

Mohamed Salah Player of the Year Betting Odds

Mohamed Salah might have missed out on the Premier League title last season but took comfort in a good number of individual awards. He is the current holder of the PFA Player of the Year award, having won the award last season.

He also claimed the Golden Boot in a year Liverpool chased an unprecedented quadruple. However, Salah will need to do it with a new-look front line, following the departure of Sadio Man. Though, he will team up with new boy Darwin Nunez.

Another win for Salah will see him claim it for a record-breaking third time. With that in mind, he has all incentive to do justice to the PFA Player of the Year Odds placed on him. The Salah PFA Player of the Year Odds are 8.00 which represents great value.

Erling Haaland Player of the Year Betting Odds

Goals are an important metric in claiming this award and the fact that Erling Haaland is the favourite here pretty much justifies that claim. When you think about Haaland and Manchester City in one sentence, it naturally adds up to goals and lots of them. If those goals contribute strongly to a title-winning campaign for City, he could yet win it in his debut season. He would become the first player to win the PFA Player of the Year award in their debut Premier League season since Ruud Van Nistelrooy in 2001-02.

However, question marks remain over his inclusion in the PFA Player of the Year for 2023 odds, with some claiming he might take some time to adjust to the Premier League. The bookies are having none of that though and Haaland PFA Player of the Year Odds is priced at 7.00, making him the top favourite at the time of writing.

Son Heung-Min Player of the Year Betting Odds

Son is coming off the back of a season where he scored the most goals in a single campaign for Tottenham and also won the Golden Boot. However, playing for Tottenham reduced his chances here. Except he posts some phenomenal numbers, a player featuring for a non-title chasing side will barely be considered.

It is perhaps no surprise to see Son PFA Player of the Year Odds priced at 21.00, making him somewhat of a long shot on this list.

Harry Kane Player of the Year Betting Odds

Despite all of his goals and numerous Golden Boot awards over the years, it’s perhaps hard to believe that Kane has never won the PFA Player of the Year award once. On closer look, it’s not so difficult, given that he plays for Tottenham and has never really been in a title-chasing position.

In a similar fashion to Son, his chances are slim. In fact, no Englishman has claimed this award since 2010 and the Harry Kane PFA Player of the Year Odds are at 11.00 for him to break that duck.

Phil Foden Player of the Year Betting Odds

Without a doubt, Foden is the longest shot placed in the PFA Player of the Year for 2023 odds and likely winners. He might have won the previous two PFA Young Player of the Year awards but to win this one, he’ll need to up his game by another level or two, if not more.

The added fact that he plays in the same team as De Bruyne and Haaland only reduces his chances even more and it would be absolutely stunning and remarkable if he can pull off such a feat. Foden PFA Player of the Year Odds stand at 21.00 and it would take something really special to see this happen.
