The Premier League props acca tips are back as our expert Scott Thornton locks in his picks for a doubleheader.
The action gets underway on Saturday when Liverpool face Crystal Palace. Later that day, Aston Villa have the chance to upset another of the title favourites. There are also two televised matches on Sunday; Luton hosts Manchester City before Tottenham and Newcastle slug it out.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool: Soaring Eagles force plenty of tackles

Crystal Palace were beaten at home by Bournemouth midweek as their torrid run of form continued. They have just one win in their last eight matches, but they remain seven points clear of the relegation zone. The Eagles haven’t beaten Liverpool since 2017 and have lost 11 of the 13 meetings since.
Jurgen Klopp’s side look to be title contenders once again, and this is a chance for them to pile the pressure on Arsenal, who kick off later in the day. Liverpool beat Sheffield United in their last match and their only loss in the Premier League so far this season was against Tottenham.
Crystal Palace are the 3rd most tackled team in the league this season, and their opponents are averaging 21.14 tackles per game when travelling to Selhurst Park. This bet has landed in their last six home matches in the Premier League.
Liverpool have made an average of 16.5 tackles across their Premier League away matches this season, but we can expect them to exceed that mark against one of the division’s most tackled teams. Klopp’s side made 24 tackles against Wolves, the side closest to Palace in this regard.
Sheffield United vs Brentford: The Blades should feel the sting

Sheffield United continued to falter midweek, but there were signs of encouragement as Chris Wilder returned to the club. The Blades posed a threat on the break against Liverpool, but points on the board are most important for a side that looks set for a long, arduous battle against relegation. Wilder’s first stint at the club was a huge success, but keeping United up this season would be some of his best work.
Brentford were narrowly beaten by Brighton in their last match. Thomas Frank’s side have recovered from their slow start to the season, but they are still some way off the pace if they want to push for a European place.
The Blades are conceding an average of 19 shots per game this season, more than any other side in the Premier League. This bet has landed in five of their seven matches at Bramall Lane, and the average shot count over that period is just over 19.
Manchester United vs Bournemouth: Attacks to come out on top once again

Manchester United created a wealth of chances in an action-packed victory over Chelsea midweek. Erik Ten Hag’s side have been poor since the start of the season, but they sit on the fringes of the top four coming into this weekend. They will be hoping to build on that win when they welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford.
Bournemouth have secured 10 points from their last four league matches and have pulled clear of the drop zone after their disastrous start to the season. Andoni Iraola’s ideas are coming to fruition, and they will be up for the challenge this weekend.
Erik Ten Hag’s side still lacks defensive protection from midfield, and it makes for great viewing for the neutral. United are keen to commit bodies to the attack, and there were 41 shots in the match when they took on Chelsea.
The Cherries’ away matches are averaging 31.29 shots per game this season, and they should have some joy against a United side that are struggling to remain solid. However, they are conceding 19.33 shots per away game, and they are likely to come under pressure here.
Aston Villa vs Arsenal: Arsenal gunned down by the Villains?

Aston Villa put on an inspiring display as they dominated Manchester City in their last match. They restricted the champions to just two shots and thoroughly deserved their 1-0 victory. They have emerged as unlikely title contenders, and another win over one of the pre-season favourites would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons.
Arsenal are two points ahead of Liverpool ahead of the weekend and have won their last six matches in all competitions. The Gunners will need to be at their very best to end Villa’s 14-match winning run on home turf, so Arteta will be racking his brains on how to get the job done here.
Unai Emery’s side racked up an incredible 22 shots against City, and he will be keen to take the game to his former club with his squad riding a wave of confidence. The Villains contributed with just seven of the 27 shots in this fixture last season, but we should see them pose more of a threat this time around. Villa’s home matches against sides currently in the top half have seen 24, 29 and 30 shots.
Arsenal’s away matches in the league this season are averaging just below the required mark for this bet to land. However, the Gunners are averaging 14 shots themselves, and there should be chances at both ends here.
Luton vs Manchester City: Guardiola seeks control

Luton have the unenviable task of taking on a wounded Manchester City. Rob Edwards’ side were the favourites to be relegated before the season began but they’ve shown good spirit in the opening months. They slipped into the relegation zone when Everton beat Newcastle, and they could drop further in the table this weekend.
Manchester City are without a win in their last four Premier League matches. It’s a run that has seen them surrender the top spot. They are now 4th and six points behind Arsenal. Pep Guardiola has been in this position before, but the poor run has given him some food for thought.
Our betting angle here is under 32.5 throws in the match. There were just 30 in Luton’s thrilling 4-3 defeat at home to Arsenal, and City’s level of control usually means very few throws.
Pep’s side’s matches on the road this season are averaging 28.43 throws per game. They have already travelled to face the other two newly-promoted sides, and there were just 28 and 22 throws in those matches. City matches have seen the fewest number of throws in the Premier League this season, with an average of 27.79.
Tottenham vs Newcastle: Injury stricken sides to go for the jugular

Tottenham’s recent results have seen them drop from 1st to 5th in the Premier League. Spurs have taken the lead in their last five games but have failed to win any of them. They have been ravaged by injuries but Ange Postecoglou couldn’t hide his disappointment after the defeat against West Ham.
Newcastle suffered a disappointment of their own this week. They were hammered by Everton at Goodison Park, and they could lose further ground in the race for the top four with another setback here. Eddie Howe’s side did the double of Tottenham last season; winning by an aggregate score of 8-2.
Tottenham’s home matches have seen plenty of shots this season, with an average of 32.43 per game. There were 34 in the loss against West Ham and Postecoglou’s attacking approach has made for great entertainment.
There were 34 shots in Newcastle’s defeat against Everton. The head-to-heads between these sides last season saw 36 and 30 shots in the match, so expect a good number here as both teams battle in the race for Champions League place.
