England, Premier League, Saturday, 10th February, 12:30 (UK)
Manchester City have the chance to go top of the Premier League, at least temporarily, in Saturday’s early match. Pep Guardiola’s side has a game in hand over Liverpool and remains the favourite to win the title.
Everton’s slump in form has seen them drop into the relegation zone. Most fancied them to avoid the drop when they were handed their 10-point deduction, but Luton’s good run has made things interesting. Sean Dyche knows that results need to improve quickly. However, the Toffees have a truly woeful record against City. They haven’t won any of the last 14 head-to-heads, losing 12.
Guardiola’s side have been dominant at the Etihad. They are able to expertly control the flow of their matches, and there are very few throws as they lay siege to the opposition’s goal. City matches have seen an average of 28.64 throws this season, the fewest in the league. This average drops to 26.9 at home.
The Toffees’ matches have seen the most throws in the division, but this trend doesn’t hold true against City. There have been 32 throws or less in nine of the last ten meetings between these sides.
England, Premier League, Saturday, 10th February, 15:00 (UK)
Luton are the newly-promoted side that have shown the most fight. They are outside of the bottom three coming into this weekend. This is a huge opportunity for Rob Edwards’ side, with Everton taking on Manchester City. A win would likely see Luton open up a four-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone.
Sheffield United are in dire straits. They are at the bottom of the league and 10 points from safety. A defeat on Saturday would see that gap stretch even further.
Nothing but a win will do with time running out quickly.
The Hatters beat Brighton 4-0 in their last match at Kenilworth Road. They racked up a total of 18 shots in that one, and their shot numbers have improved in recent weeks. Luton’s home matches are averaging 27.18 shots per game, with Edwards’ men contributing 12.82 of those. Expect them to go well above their average against the side that has conceded the most attempts in the top flight.
The Blades have to put their best foot forward and get at Luton. They had 21 of the 33 shots in the reverse fixture.
England, Premier League, Saturday, 10th February, 17:30 (UK)
Nottingham Forest are teetering on the edge of the relegation zone. There was an upturn in form when Nuno Espirito Santo took charge in his first few matches. Things have slowed since the turn of the year with the team now enduring a seven-match winless run across all competitions.
Newcastle were held to a 4-4 draw against Luton in their last match. Eddie Howe’s side face an uphill battle to make it into the top four but they are still in the mix when it comes to European places. Their win over Aston Villa in their last match on the road was just their second away win in the Premier League this season.
Expect the home side to come out swinging here. We should see a feisty game with both teams battling for possession. This should help inflate the throw count. Nuno has taken charge of 10 Forest matches and there has been 41.1 throws on average.
The Magpies’ away matches across all competitions this season are averaging 35.78 throws. This bet has won in the three head-to-heads between these sides since Forest were promoted, with an average of 41 throws.
England, Premier League, Sunday, 11th February, 14:00 (UK)
West Ham have now gone six competitive matches without a win. They performed well in the first half at Old Trafford but were unable to take their chances. The Hammers eventually lost the game 3-0. David Moyes’ side stunned Arsenal by beating them 2-0 at the Emirates earlier this season. In fact, they have beaten the title challengers twice already in this campaign. They will be looking to make it a perfect three here.
Arsenal beat Liverpool in their last game to drag themselves back into the mix for the title. Mikel Arteta’s side executed their game plan to perfection. However, they need to remain consistent if they are to do what they couldn’t last season and wrestle the title away from Manchester City.
David Moyes’ side showed plenty of attacking intent in their two recent wins over Arsenal. They will look to exploit the space behind the Arsenal defence once again so they should be able to force goal kicks to contribute towards the match total. Hammers matches have seen the fourth-most goal kicks in the league with an average of 15.09.
Arteta’s men forced 16 goal kicks in their home defeat against West Ham just after Christmas. There were 22 goal kicks overall in that game and 17 the last time they played at this ground.
England, Premier League, Sunday, 11th February, 16:30 (UK)
Aston Villa lost their FA Cup replay at home to Chelsea midweek. Unai Emery will be keen to rally his squad ahead of this clash with Manchester United. The Villains took a two-goal lead at Old Trafford earlier in the season but eventually succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
Manchester United have been under the microscope this season. Performances on the pitch have left a lot to be desired and the media have plenty of off-the-field drama to write about. Sings have been more positive for Erik Ten Hag’s side in recent weeks but they will need to be at their best from now until the end of the season if they are to qualify for the Champions League.
The Villains’ matches have seen an average of 11.64 goal kicks per game this season. That’s the least in the division and well below the average of 14.29. This under-14.5 line has won in 10 of their 11 home league matches.
Despite being a five-goal thriller, Manchester United’s last encounter with Aston Villa saw just seven goal kicks. There have been 13 goal kicks or fewer in the last five head-to-heads with an average of just 11.

Crystal Palace fans have voiced their discontent over the performances in recent months. Many feel that Roy Hodgson has taken the team as far as he can and a longer-term appointment is needed to compete. The Eagles are currently five points above the bottom three after losing 4-1 in the M23 Derby last weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino is another manager under fire. Chelsea secured their palace in the 5th round of the FA Cup during the week. They also have the League Cup final to look forward to later this month but the former Spurs boss is treading on thin ice with his team in the bottom half of the Premier League.
This one looks set for a boatload of tackles. When playing at Selhurst Park, Palace’s opponents are averaging 21.27 tackles per league game. Sheffield United made a whopping 35 tackles in the Eagles’ last game at home. Our bet for this game has landed in nine of Palace’s last ten home league matches.
Chelsea are averaging 18.55 tackles per league away game this season. They made 21 tackles when they took on Palace at Stamford Bridge just after Christmas.
