West Ham go into the weekend five points behind 6th. Securing a European place was the target for this season, but it would take a strong finish for them to achieve that dream. David Moyes’ side were beaten 5-2 by Crystal Palace in their last match.
Liverpool’s title hopes took a major hit midweek as they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at Everton. Jurgen Klopp’s farewell hasn’t gone according to plan but they aren’t out of the title race just yet.
The Hammers are forcing an average of 18.94 tackles per game in the Premier League this season. The tackles numbers of increased of late, the 15 league matches they have played in 2024 have seen their opponents make an average of 21.2 tackles, and this bet has won in the last five.
Liverpool are averaging 16.19 tackles per league away game. That’s below the required mark for this bet to land but their recent meetings with West Ham paint a prettier picture. Klopp’s side made 19 tackles when they last faced the Hammers. The last head-to-head at this ground saw Liverpool make 20 tackles.

Erik Ten Hag knows his job is on the line in the closing weeks of the season. A place in the top four is beyond reach but he needs to ensure his side delivers performances that the new board deem acceptable to give the Dutchman another season at the club. United beat Sheffield United 4-2 midweek and face another relegation candidate here.
Burnley can go level on points with Nottingham Forest with a win at Old Trafford. They have looked destined for the drop all season but there is still time to salvage their place in the Premier League in the closing weeks of the season.
Manchester United survived a scare against Sheffield United. They racked up a total of 25 shots as they committed the defenders to the press more frequently. Sustaining attacks has been an issue for United this season but Ten Hag should stick with that approach on Saturday.
Kompany’s side are conceding an average of 18.65 shots per Premier League away game this season. Expect them to be under the cosh this weekend.
England, Premier League, Saturday, 27th April, 17:30 (UK)
Sean Dyche’s side were excellent as they beat Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby midweek. Another win this weekend would all but take them out of the relegation equation.
Thomas Frank will be disappointed with the way the season has gone for Brentford. His side challenged for European places last campaign but could find themselves below Everton in the table if they lose on Saturday.
Everton matches this season have seen the most throws in the Premier League with an average of 41.91 per game. This rises to 44 throws if we only include the data from their matches at Goodison Park. The direct nature of their approach lends itself nicely to throw-in bets and this game should be no different.
Brentford matches seen just over one more throw per game than the league average but this bet won when these sides met earlier in the season. There were 42 throws as Everton ran out 3-1 winners.

Aston Villa are in the driving seat in the race for the top four. Securing Champions League football seemed impossible when Unai Emery took over last season but the former Arsenal boss has turned them into a real force. The Villains beat Bournemouth 3-1 in their last match.
Mauricio Pochettino is seemingly on borrowed time at Stamford Bridge. The Blues’ manager had overseen progress in recent months but the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal has done his chances of remaining in the post for next season no good. Chelsea are 19 points behind Aston Villa coming into this one.
Unai Emery’s men like to draw out the opposition and are comfortable at playing through the press. This is a contributing factor in Villa matches seeing so few throws. Their home matches have seen an average of 27.47 throws per game, only Manchester City matches have had less.
Chelsea matches have seen the fifth fewest throws in the league overall. They have already faced Aston Villa at this ground this season. There were 26 throws in that one.
England, Premier League, Sunday, 28th January, 14:00 (UK)
Tottenham are six points behind Aston Villa but have two games in hand as they look to wrestle their way into the Champions League. Postecoglou’s side lost their last match against Newcastle 4-0 and will need to tighten up to avoid another hammering here.
Arsenal are top of the league ahead of this weekend’s action but only a win will do with Manchester City breathing down their necks. Arteta’s men looked sublime in the win over Chelsea. They are now hunting their second win over a London rival in the space of a week.
Ange Postecoglou’s team have earned a reputation for playing attacking football but they could struggle to hurt this superb Arsenal side. They forced just two goal kicks from them in the reverse fixture. Arteta’s team had three goal kicks in their last visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Gunners are averaging just 5.47 goal kicks per away game this season. They have had six or fewer in eight of their last 10 away matches in the Premier League. The only games where this bet lost were at the Etihad and Anfield. Arsenal had just four goal kicks in the 5-0 win over Chelsea.
England, Premier League, Sunday, 28th January, 16:30 (UK)
Nottingham Forest have the unenviable task of taking on Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut this weekend. Forest felt cheated by the refereeing in their defeat to Everton last weekend and caused a stir with their response on social media. They are just a point above the relegation zone and run the risk of relegation.
Manchester City must secure the league to avoid a poor season by their lofty standards. Pep’s dream of back-to-back trebles came to an end when they lost the penalty shootout against Real Madrid. Their focus now is on maintaining their excellent league form to finish above Arsenal and Liverpool.
Forest are in desperate need of the points but will view this one as a free hit. They are averaging 13.33 shots across their 12 home games in all competitions under Nuno Espírito Santo.
City are masters at restricting opposition chances but the shot line set by bet365 here looks low. They are conceding an average of 9.8 shots per Premier League away game this season. Pep’s side conceded ten shots against Forest at the Etihad earlier in the season.
