It’s the last day of action in the major European leagues ahead of the World Cup. So having cast my eye over the action, I have picked out my three best bets. Putting them together for a bettingexpert Sunday night acca.
In this article:
France, Ligue 1, Sunday, November 13th, 19:45 (UK)
These two sides have been headed in different directions over recent weeks. Until recently hot on the coattails of champions Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille found it hard to get over a shock first defeat of the season handed to them by lowly Ajaccio.
A winless run of four games yielding just one point from 12 available was halted with victory at home to Lyon last weekend. A powerful Samuel Gigot header was enough to provide a much-needed lift in claiming all three points against their long standing rivals.
Monaco had a run of five successive league wins that ended with a home draw with Clermont Foot. Then losing to the odd goal in seven at Lille, before back-to-back 2-0 wins have seen a return to winning ways. A return of 22 points from the last 27 available has seen the principality side climb up to fifth as a result.
Philippe Clement’s side have been on a fantastic run and it is impossible to overlook them at odds-against. Despite sitting side by side in the Ligue 1 table locked together on 27 points the form table tells a different story. Only Rennes have scored more than Monaco’s 22 goals over the last 10 league games. Aleksandr Golovin and Breel Embolo scored two goals apiece in those last domestic wins. While a Europa League hat-trick from Kevin Volland against Red Star Belgrade secured their place in the round of 16. The home side will have too much firepower for their out-of-sorts visitors here.
Italy, Serie A, Sunday, November 13th, 19:45 (UK)
Fourth hosts second in the final game of the Serie A campaign before the World Cup. Both Juventus and Lazio were in action on Thursday evening, with both sides recording 1-0 victories.
Max Allegri saw his team record a fifth straight league win overcoming rock-bottom Hellas Verona. A Moise Kean strike on the hour was enough to claim all three points from their visit to Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. The hosts had their chances mustering 15 attempts at goal also having a penalty awarded then correctly overturned by referee Marco Di Bello after consulting VAR.
The Biancocelesti had a hard-fought victory of their own with Serie A new boys Monza proving a stubborn obstacle to overcome. The visitors had an early effort ruled out for offside and a defensive error ultimately proved their undoing. Michele Di Gregorio failed to hold a Pedro effort with Luka Romero on hand to tuck away the rebound.
Lazio and Juventus are respectively eight and ten points adrift of runaway leaders Napoli going into the weekend’s fixtures. This may be seen as a must not lose clash rather than one to take all three points. A tight and cagey affair looks to be in the offing as Serie A’s two most miserly defences come face to face. Both sides have an incredible nine clean sheets from 14 games played. Eight of Lazio’s coming in their last nine fixtures. At least one of these two look set for another shut out and so No on BTTS is the play
Portugal, Liga Portugal, Sunday, November 13th, 20:30 (UK)
Famalicão ended their losing streak when on the road with a goalless draw at Maritimo last weekend. A vital share of the spoils to keep a five-point cushion between themselves and their second-from-bottom opponents. Since then registering a comfortable 4-1 home win over Dumiense to progress to the round of 16 in the Taça de Portugal.
Sporting bounced back from crashing out of the Champions League with an impressive 3-0 victory over Vitoria de Guimaraes last weekend. A brace from the in-form Marcus Edwards either side of a Hidemasa Morita ended their visitors’ seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions in some style. Ruben Amorim’s side leapfrogged their opponents up into fifth but still a massive 12 points adrift of the leaders Benfica.
It’s been a tough start to the campaign for Sporting. The 2-1 home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt nearly meant an exit from all European competition. Only the late Spurs goal against Marseille at least provided a Europa League campaign to look forward to after the World Cup. The Lions were also sensationally dumped out of the Taça de Portugal by third-division Varzim.
Ruben Amorim’s men have already lost eight times across all competitions. The manager seems far from impressed with regard to the state of his squad which has frequently looked average at best this season. The financial problems at the club are well documented.
Although Famalicão aren’t in the best of form or are a formidable opponent, we can take them and the draw at odds-against. Certainly worth taking given their visitors’ struggles this term. João Pedro Sousa’s side also have a reasonable home record. Winning three of their five games in the top flight so far. No disgrace in suffering just a 1-0 loss to Benfica in September. The runaway leaders are certainly a far stronger opponent than Sporting who have failed to win here at Estádio Municipal de Famalicão on their last three visits.

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
