There’s been a lot to unpack after three games so far and Manchester United’s surprise win over Liverpool shows that we’re in for a lot of twists this season. Still speaking about surprises, Arsenal find themselves top of the league and it is a question of how long they can keep up their performances.
There is a lot to look forward to as we preview all of the action to come ahead of the fourth gameweek.

Coincidentally, both teams will be on the hunt for more points after registering their first wins of the campaign. Southampton came from behind to claim a win against Leicester City but it is Manchester United’s win against Liverpool that got everyone talking. Against all odds, the Red Devils ended their run of four Premier League defeats in a game described by Erik Ten Hag as the side he wants to see.
Manchester United will be hoping that win against familiar foes kickstarts the beginning of a positive run of results.

Aston Brentford will be aiming to pick themselves back up after suffering a disappointing loss to Fulham after staging a comeback at some point. A perfect opposition to do just that comes in the form of Everton, who are yet to record a win after the first three games. The Toffees barely escaped relegation last season but early indications suggest they could be caught in another edition of survival once again.

Both sides are enjoying brilliant spells at the moment and what are the odds that Brighton and Leeds would be 4th and 5th respectively, while going unbeaten after three games of the season? It promises to be an exciting encounter at the AMEX. Stadium and a winner will come down to which side makes better use of chances that come their way.

After a humbling 3-0 defeat against Leeds last weekend, Chelsea would ordinarily be glad of a return to Stamford Bridge. However, a run of just two wins in their last seven home Premier League games isn’t assuring either. Despite their own woeful start to the campaign, Leicester will do all they can to make life miserable for their hosts and they’ll fancy their chances at doing that.

For the first time in 20 years, Liverpool have started a Premier League campaign without a win after three games. For some, the Reds already find themselves in a crisis and could be out of the title race early on. However, it’s still early days and things can change in a split second.
The Reds will now be looking at Bournemouth’s arrival at Anfield as a source of reprieve, with Liverpool winning the last six H2Hs by keeping five clean sheets and scoring 19 goals!

Arsenal Manchester City avoided an early-season scare last time when they came from two goals down to avoid defeat. In the process, they became the fourth side in history to avoid defeat in three consecutive Premier League matches when falling two goals behind.
That highlighted how competitive the PL is and that’s also typified by Crystal Palace, who have left the City faithful stunned in recent times by taking four points from City in home and away fixtures last season. Back City to return to winning ways here.

Arsenal are the team to beat at the moment, with the Gunners playing with much flair and confidence. A 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last time out meant that Arsenal are the only team to have recorded three wins from three in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
You would have to go all the way back to the 2004-05 season to find the last time the Gunners achieved such a positive start to their opening campaign. They finished 2nd in that season so what are the odds that they replicate that feat?
Fulham will come into this game with much confidence but they are likely to be blown away by a dominant Arsenal side.
Sun, August 28th, 14:00 (UK Time)
Aston Villa have blown hot and cold this term and Steven Gerrard obviously has a lot to fix. A 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace is disappointing but even worse considering that Villa scored within the opening 10 minutes and suffered a major collapse afterwards.
Elsewhere, the warning bells are ringing in full force and the pressure is already mounting strongly on David Moyes. While they could have been forgiven for losing to Manchester City, successive losses to Nottingham Forest and more recently Brighton were simply unavoidable.
Another loss could genuinely see David Moyes walk on the tightrope of being sacked and he would be wary of an Aston Villa side that knows how to cause problems.

Newcastle are flying high at the moment and will come into this game with much confidence after going head-to-head with Manchester City last time out. The Magpies have also been brilliant in the transfer market and are set to sign Aleksandr Isak from Real Sociedad.
They are also unbeaten this season and should blow a struggling Wolves side away, with the hosts languishing in 18th position with no wins.
Sun, August 28th, 16:30 (UK Time)
Tottenham will be eager to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, when they take on Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon. Antonio Conte’s appointment seemingly turned Spurs’ season around last term and the Italian has carried more of the good work into the new campaign.
However, they will have to dispatch a stubborn Nottingham side, who have shown much promise this season, with Steve Cooper looking to make an early impression.
