Paris is where the Champions League Final will be held on May 28th as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool battle it out against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in what will be an enthralling encounter. Can Los Blancos produce another emphatic performance or will the Reds add another piece of silverware to this season’s collection?

Reaching the final was certainly no easy task for the side from the Spanish capital, three knockout rounds previous saw them well up against it for long periods but on each occasion turned the tie on its head against all odds.

Inter Milan, Benfica and Unai Emery’s Villarreal stood in the way of Liverpool from experiencing another European final. The Premier League runners up were strong favourites heading in to each tie and managed to moneurove their way through with one real major scare which came in the Estadio de la Ceramica where an opening 45 minutes in Spain saw the tie evenly poised before the Reds ran riot and confirmed their place in the final.

Looking at the betting angles for the game and it’s little surprise the English side are reasonable favourites to lift the prestigious trophy at 1.57. Goals are expected with the line set at 2.75 via the asian line and Liverpool are priced very short to win the corner count on the night.

With two of Europe’s finest sides going head to head in the Stade de France I’m keen to put a bet builder together that we can spur on whilst watching the game, this is the third time in the tournament’s history that the 81,338 seater stadium has hosted the final.

Champions League Final Betting Analysis

Liverpool have scored all seven of their previous Champions League goals after the break, they’ve scored 13 times in total in this season’s knockout stages seeing 10 of those come in the second half of the 90.

Real Madrid conceded after the break in both legs versus Manchester City in the Semi-Finals and in four of their six knockout games. Interestingly, when these sides met in Kiev four years ago in the 2017/2018 final, all four goals were scored in the second half.

Fitness could play a pivotal role in the latter stages of this huge clash, Liverpool despite having less time to prepare would still be expected to play at a quick tempo and with all injury doubts set to be available, Klopp will have plenty of attacking talent at his disposal to cause a threat.

Luis Diaz has been arguably the signing of the season, Liverpool snapped him up from Porto in the winter transfer window and have not looked back ever since. The Colombian forward has settled in perfectly to the club and has impressed whenever he’s on the pitch. Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah would be expected to form a front three alongside the 25 year-old.

I’m more than happy to get behind Luis Diaz shots on Saturday night, since his arrival the energetic forward has taken two or more shots in five out of six appearances in the competition. He only featured for seven minutes in the second leg against Inter Milan but still managed an attempt at goal.

Karim Benzema has had a phenomenal season and seems to be getting better year upon year and his performances in this season’s Champions League are a big reason why his side made it to the final. Alongside Luis Diaz I’m keen to get behind the Frenchman in the shot department.

Real Madrid’s talisman has appeared in 11 games this season and has had two or more shots on 10 different occasions. The 34 year-old is the vocal point for his side, he is in the form of his life and will be happy to have a shot from anywhere he fancies on the field.

Liverpool play an extremely high line which is shown given how many times they catch their opponents in an offside position, all six knockout games saw an opposing player caught in an offside position three times or more.

Across the 38 Premier League games Liverpool averaged 3.79 offsides against, with 3.25 on average across 12 Champions League games. Real Madrid will start with Vinicius Junior who’s frightening pace will scare his opponents, Liverpool may use their high line as an advantage in catching the Brazilian offside. The same can be said for Rodrygo on the other flank, he may not start in Paris but will most likely be called upon at any time.

Bet Builder Odds: 4.33

A stats based bet builder I have backed here for the final in Paris on Saturday night which should have a very good chance of landing. Both forwards are in terrific form and will want to be heroes for their clubs and won’t be afraid to have a dig at goal.

Liverpool have scored in the second half in 82% of Premier League games alongside 83% of Champions League matches and should have plenty of energy in the tank towards the latter stages of the 90 and may feel that is the best time to hurt the Spanish champions.

The high line has proved difficult to overcome for the English clubs opponents this campaign in both league and cup competitions and the Reds will be looking to use that to their advantage in the capital.

Real Madrid beat Liverpool when these sides met in the final a few years ago so revenge will be wanted, the ability in the sides has changed quite drastically since the clash in Ukraine which is why Liverpool will arrive here as favourites. Ancelotti and his players won’t mind that whatsoever given they were given little chance in all of their previous rounds.

The battle in midfield will be key, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos can cause plenty of damage when they are in possession of the ball so the way Liverpool press in the forward parts of the field will be hugely important.

In what should be a thrilling 90 minutes at the very least the bet builder approach is how I want to prioritise this game from a betting perspective and at a price of 4.33 via Bet 365 i’ll be hoping it has every chance of landing at the Stade de France.

WHAT IS A BET BUILDER?

A bet builder is a kind of accumulator bet solely focussed on one match. A standard acca features multiple selections across different selections combined together into one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to the American prop bet, the bet builder goes into detail on a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
