It may be the Grand National on Saturday, but the focus of the sporting world will also be locked on the Premier League once again. With another round of action, it also means our Tottenham vs Bournemouth tips are not far away.
Tips that will focus on whether Spurs can build on last week’s rather controversial win at home to Brighton. While they are tips that will also focus on whether the Cherries can continue their impressive run of form.
In this article:
England, Premier League, Saturday, April 15th, 15:00 (UK)
If you were taking a honest view of Tottenham’s performance against Brighton last Saturday, you would have to say that Spurs did not engineer a win in front of their support but the matchday officials did.
Not to suggest there was anything in the way of grand conspiracy against the Seagulls, it’s more that they were incredibly unfortunate to see Danny Welbeck’s goal ruled out but also to see one maybe even two stonewall penalties not given.
Cristian Stellini’s men know that they got away with one and in doing so, they picked up three Premier League points in the process. They may be the outsiders looking in when it comes to the race to the top four, but that win just about keeps them in it.
This means the North London outfit have to find the one thing that has been missing from the first three-quarters of their campaign. That attribute is consistency and that is arguably the one thing that is stopping them from returning to the Champions League.
Next up for them is the visit of Bournemouth and although observers would have been tempted to write them off a month or so ago, four wins from their last eight has certainly broken the clouds of the Vitality Stadium.
Last weekend saw Gary O’Neil’s side earn a hugely important win at the expense of Leicester and after leaving the King Power Stadium with maximum points in their back pocket, the Cherries currently find themselves three places clear of the drop zone.
When Tottenham and Bournemouth meet in the Premier League, it is not usually a dull affair and it certainly was not when the two teams met at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season. The Cherries found themselves two-nil up, they then lost the game by three goals to two.
While to build on this, four of the last six league outings between the two have ended with five or more total goals and this is going to be the starting point for my latest Premier League bet builder.
As mentioned above Tottenham were incredibly lucky last weekend but this Saturday they will have to make their own luck. Thankfully for them, I believe that the hosts will come out on top and earn three points in the race for the European places.
From there, we are once again looking at the goalscorer market and when it comes to the anytime offering, there is a sense of who else. Of course, the man in question is once again Harry Kane and a goal between minute one and ninety is also going on the betting slip.
Stuart Atwell was almost non-existent in North London nearly seven days ago but hopefully, Andrew Madley is not so shy. If he shines in the spotlight and awards two or more cards in total, this will help this 8.00 bet move a step closer to being a winning wager.
