Tottenham vs Fulham Bet Builder Tips, Opta Stats, and Player Props

The international break may have thrown us a few exciting games, particularly England’s 3-1 triumph over Italy in a revenge showing for Euro 2020, but the return of club (specifically Tottenham vs Fulham) football is always something to salivate over, particularly in the ever-entertaining and always-enthralling English Premier League.

While the star in England’s side on international duty, Harry Kane, may no longer wear the bright white of the North London club, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side is nonetheless rampaging their way into the upper echelons of the Premier League in his absence.

Standing in their way at White Hart Lane as the top flight of England returns to our screens is a plucky Fulham side who continue to display their grit and consistency as a member of England’s elite 20, who even hold a league cup win over their hosts before the break took place.

It’s all to play for on Monday night and to help you get your fair share of the action, our expert Matthew O’Regan has combined three selections for a 4.00 odds bet builder.

Bet Builder odds: 3.50

England, Premier League, Monday, 23rd October.

Odds via bet365 as at Thursday, 19th October, 19:00 Odds may now differ.

Tottenham vs Fulham Stats: The Oldest Premier League Team is in Town

  • Tottenham have won 13 of their last 15 Premier League games against Fulham, with the exceptions both coming in home games (0-1 in March 2013, 1-1 in January 2021).
  • Tottenham have lost just one of their last 16 Premier League games played on a Monday (W11 D4), a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City in October 2018.
  • While Fulham have the oldest average starting XI age in the Premier League this season (29 years, 183 days), Tottenham have the third-youngest (24y 345d). Indeed, each of the six oldest starting XIs named for a Premier League match by any side this season have all been by Fulham.
  • Only Rúben Dias has made more progressive carries (164) or covered more distance via progressive carries (1,822m) than Fulham’s Issa Diop in the Premier League this season (125 progressive carries, 1,460m).
  • No player has been involved in more open play sequences that have ended in a shot in the Premier League this season than Tottenham’s James Maddison (63 – 22 shots, 15 chances created, 26 in build-up). Indeed, no player has provided more assists in the competition this term than Maddison (5), although all of these assists have come away from home.

Tottenham vs Fulham Bet Builder Tips: Son to shine once again

Heung-Min-Son to score

With the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich also seeing England’s record goal-scorer vacate the captain’s armband, none in Tottenham were better suited to taking it on than his partner in crime, Heung-Min Son. And he’s stepped up to it in a big way.

Only the perennial goal machine Erling Haaland leads the South Korean legend in Premier League goals this season, with the Norwegian leading his tally of six by two. Only Alex Isak of Newcastle and Sweden can keep up with him either, with six to his name as well.

Ange Postecoglu’s side is a swooping, swerving symphony of a footballing machine, and with the creative powers of James Maddison in its ranking, it’s no surprise to see Son pick up the goalscoring mantel left behind by Kane.

With three goals in his last three games in the Premier League, expect Son to star again at the expense of Fulham’s defence.

Tottenham Win

With Son’s goals comes the need for credit to the rest of the Tottenham side. A rock-solid partnership of Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven anchors the side. The revelations in full-back take the form of Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro. And the dynamic duo of Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma is as frightening as it is wonderful.

The depth is there, too, with Richarlison finally coming good and the pace of Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon being there to keep the energy in the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.

It all clicks together so wonderfully well, and it is no surprise at all to see the Ange revolution in North London oversee the second-most chances created, the third-most goals scored, and third-least goals conceded (9th placed Crystal Palace is in front of them, weirdly) boasted in their statistical packs as Spurs top the league.

Plucky and resilient as Fulham can be, a trip to the now-bouncing White Hart Lane will likely be far too much for them to contend with, and it would be no surprise to see them falling short of Tottenham in this one.

Tottenham Over 17.5 Throw-Ins

Under Ange Postecoglu, Celtic were a team that hit many throw-ins, and this record has continued now the Aussie has taken the reigns at Tottenham.

With Spurs utilising the wings in brilliant fashion with their pacey dangermen, flailing opposition tackles down the flanks have seen the ball tossed back into play by Spurs more than 17 times on all but two occasions in the league so far this season.

Better yet, Fulham have only played one game this season where they have conceded less than 17 throw-ins during the game. In fact, there have only been three occasions where they have conceded less than 21 throws. Even Sheffield United and Norwich City managed over 50 between them.

All the signs point towards the action on the touchline being one to keep an eye on – a mathematical likelihood (he says) that will add a nice price boost to your builder on Monday night.
