Sunday serves up a hotly-anticipated Premier League London derby and this means we have Tottenham vs West Ham bet builder tips to unveil. Tips that will focus on a Spurs side that is inconsistent if nothing else.
While these tips will also shine a light on the Hammers and with David Moyes’ men having gone undefeated in their last three league outings, there is a sense that the East Londoners are just starting to turn the corner.
In this article:
England, Premier League, Sunday, February 19th, 16:30 (UK)
Just when it looked like things were going to be plain sailing for Tottenham, have they hit choppy waters once again. A fantastic performance that led to a home win over Manchester City was then followed by a disaster of a showing at Leicester the weekend after.
One that saw Antonio Conte return from his recent surgical procedure and take charge of Spurs at the King Power Stadium. Then again, after witnessing the 4-1 away reverse, he might have wished he did not bother.
Because in a game where Cristian Romero was absent through suspension, the rest of his defensive cohorts were absent without leave. The Argentinian may be rash in the tackle but without him in the side, Tottenham are a rather tame beast.
One that now must also deal with the loss of Rodrigo Bentancaur for the rest of the season and the injury to the Uruguayan will be a hammer blow before the Hammers visit N17 this coming Sunday.
When looking at West Ham these past few weeks, the football has been solid than opposed to spectacular. David Moyes’ men may not be winning many plaudits but they are at least getting points on the board.
Which is exactly what Moyes needs to keep delivering during this cutthroat Premier League season. Many of managerial counterparts have already been shown the exit door and one wonders how long the wily Scot can avoid being shown a West Ham P45 once again.
From a betting perspective, Tottenham are arguably the hardest team to read. They win when you do not expect them and collapse when you think maximum points are just around the corner.
However, I am not one to be deterred and with this in mind, I am backing Spurs to return to winning ways on Sunday, as they also end West Ham’s burgeoning unbeaten run in the process.
With the news that Antonio Conte must now convalesce in Italy for the next 6-8 weeks, his players will look to make that recovery go quickly as possible. The best way to do that, is by getting back on the winning train.
One that in my opinion will be driven by none other than Harry Kane and after recently breaking Jimmy Greaves’ record on home soil, I am backing him to once again score in front of his own support.
A win for Spurs and a goal for Harry Kane seems routine enough but in fairness to West Ham, I do think they will be good for at least a consolation goal – especially as the last three matches between the two have ended with both teams finding the net.
Add that pick into the mix and there is just one more selection required. With there never being any love lost between Tottenham and West Ham, a couple of cautions should not be far away. All four options combined are priced at 5.00 and a win may not be far away either.
