There are plenty of intriguing games in the Premier League this weekend, so I’ve looked at some of the cards and corner angles that I think will be profitable for us. I’ve also headed to Germany for a selection that has all the stats backing it up.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal Preview

Bournemouth have had three yellow cards in both of their matches so far, and they face a stern test this Saturday, as they take on Arsenal. The Cherries’ home advantage should spur them on to cause problems for Arsenal, and I’m expecting cards from Craig Pawson here.

Bournemouth were beat by Man City in their last game. They were awarded three cards to City’s none. I expect this game to follow a similar pattern. Arsenal have more quality, and the home side will need to be aggressive to keep them quiet, so I believe the home side will have more cards in this one.

Leeds vs Chelsea Preview

Chelsea have had more corners than their opponents in 13 of their last 14 league matches. They are averaging over seven per match in that period, while their opponents are averaging under three.

Leeds have started the season well and remaining resolute here could inflate the corner count in Chelsea’s favour. Moreover, Tuchel’s side have had the most corners in both of their matches this season (16-4 vs Everton and 8-5 vs Tottenham).

We can get Chelsea -2 on the Asian corners handicap with bet365, and this looks a great bet providing they don’t score early. This bet won in both league meetings between these sides last season, and Chelsea have won both of their corner counts by the required amount so far this season.

Newcastle vs Man City Preview

Man City are the team to beat this season, and they have dominated their two matches so far. City had eight and six corners in the two league meetings with Newcastle last season, and they could win a significant amount here if Newcastle manage to keep it tight at the back early doors.

Guardiola’s side also force a fair amount of cards. Their last 10 away matches have seen the opponent average two cards per game, and the crowd at St. James Park will be keen to see their team flying into the tackles for this one given it is the perfect opportunity for the Magpies to make a statement.

Using the bet365 bet builder, we can get odds of 2.20 for over one card in the match for the home side, and City to win more than five corners. I don’t envisage Newcastle rolling over for the champions with the optimism surrounding the club at the moment, so this bet looks to have a great chance.

Augsburg vs Mainz Preview

Augsburg haven’t had more corners than their opponents in their last 13 Bundesliga matches. Mainz have had more corners than their opponents in seven of their last 10 league matches, and six of their last seven away matches.

When these sides met last season, Mainz won the corner counts 7-5 and 6-2, and I’m expecting them to do the same again here. Augsburg lost their only home game so far this season 4-0 to Freiburg, and they had fewer corners than their opponents despite chasing the game throughout.
