Weekend Cards and Corners Acca: August 6th-7th

Cards and corners are some of the best markets to bet on in football. Here at bettingexpert News, we’re launching our first cards and corners acca. There are acca tips for four matches in this piece looking at games in England, Germany and Argentina.

In this article:

Newell’s vs Colon Preview

Argentina, Superliga, Monday, August 8th, 00:00 (UK)

Just three points separate these two teams after 11 league matches, and only one of the last eight meetings between these sides has been decided by more than one goal.
I’m expecting another tight match here, but Newell’s should show more attacking intent. In Colon’s last 10 away matches, they are averaging 2.9 corners less than their opponents, and they have lost the corner’s match bet in seven of those.

Newell’s vs Colon Best Bet

Newell’s should win more corners than the visitors here. They have had more corners than Colon in their last five matches at the Estadio Coloso Del Parque Marcelo Bielsa, and they have all landed by the margin required for bet365’s Asian handicap to win. We also get the security of our money back should the game finish dead on the -1 line.

  • Selection: Newell’s Asian Corners -1 (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.90 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 8/10

Everton vs Chelsea Preview

England, Premier League, Saturday, August 6th, 17:30 (UK)

Craig Pawson takes charge of a game between two teams who have had less than satisfactory pre-seasons. Pawson was on our referees to watch list when I looked at betting on the cards market in the 2022/23 Premier League season. He has a high card count and the conditions are there for him to deliver here.

Everton narrowly avoided the drop last season, and Frank Lampard called for their players to show more fighting spirit after their 4-0 defeat against Minnesota Vikings. Goodison was rocking at the back end of last season, and the crowd will be urging their players into crunching tackles here.

Everton vs Chelsea Best Bet

The cards line is quite high for a season opener, but the price is comfortably odds against with Betfair. There were 13 yellow cards across the two games between these sides last season, and Craig Pawson at the whistle means we could see a similar number again.

  • Selection: Over 4.5 Cards In The Match
  • Best Odds: 2.40 (Betfair)
  • Stakes: 6/10

Stuttgart vs RB Leipzig Preview

Germany, Bundesliga, Sunday, August 7th, 14:30 (UK)

Leipzig dominated the meetings between these two sides last season, with an aggregate score of 6-0. Surprisingly, the corner count was fairly low despite both teams being known for their attacking football. I think it could be a similar story this weekend.

Just two of Leipzig’s last 10 matches in the league last season saw over nine corners. In those games, there was an average of just 6.7 corners per game.

Stuttgart really struggled to get to grips with some of their tougher tests last season. This meant they seldom contributed to the corner count, and just one of their nine matches where they were similarly priced to this weekend finished with more than nine corners.

Stuttgart vs Leipzig Best Bet

I’m backing there the under on corners again here. bet365 have set the line at 9.5, and there were just six and eight corners when these sides met last season.

  • Selection: Under 9.5 Corners (TRACKED TIP)
  • Best Odds: 1.83 (Bet365)
  • Stakes: 7/10

Fulham vs Liverpool Preview

England, Premier League, Saturday, August 6th, 12:30 (UK)

Liverpool face newly-promoted Fulham in their season opener, and they should pile on the pressure from the off after their win over Man City in the Community Shield last weekend.

Marco Silva won’t want his team to concede early on, so they should remain compact and invite Liverpool on. This bodes well for first half corners for the visitors.

Klopp’s side averaged 4.7 corners in the first half of their last 10 games last season, and they average over 5 corners per first half in their last five matches where they have been similarly priced to win.

Fulham vs Liverpool Best Bet

bet365 have Liverpool to win over three corners in the first half priced at 2.10. I’m happy to back this given the confidence the visitors will have going into this one against a side fresh from the Championship.

  • Selection: Under 9.5 Corners (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 7/10

What is a Football acca?

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
