Burnley vs Reading Preview

Table-toppers Burnley host a Reading side who will be in for a tough afternoon at Turf Moor. Vincent Kompany’s men are unbeaten in 14 consecutive matches and have been victorious in four of their last five.

In their eight home league games, Burnley have scored multiple times in half of those matches and have bagged 15 times in total. With this Reading side performing poorly on the road, the hosts should be looking to capitalise.

Given the difference in form between the two sides, backing Burnley to score multiple goals on Saturday afternoon seems nicely priced. They have quality all over the field that will cause Paul Ince and his side problems.

Heading to Scotland with my second selection as bottom club Peterhead welcome an Edinburgh side who should be having a field day in front of goal. The hosts have conceded 31 times in 12 matches this season. That is more than any other side in the division and they’ve allowed multiple goals in 11 of those matches.

Edinburgh won the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier this month. They should be looking to repeat that against a leaky Peterhead side.

Given Peterhead’s exceptionally poor record defensively, 1.80 for the away side to bag a couple of goals seems like a great price. They have scored on multiple occasions in eight games from 12 in League One.

Backing goals here just seems the best way to tackle this match. Wolfsberger have seen 54 goals scored in their opening 13 matches with the proposed selection landing in all of the last 12.

LASK have been amongst the goals more often than not this season with 43 so far, averaging well over three per match. These sides met in early August, it finished 5-1 on the day with the selection landing on the hour mark.

Quite easily the standout game in Norway this weekend sees 3rd host 2nd. There is still plentyto play for with just three games left in the season.

These sides met on the opening day of the season for a match that ended 2-2. Form-wise, these two clubs have scored the most goals in the last five and 10 matches and I can see this clash being a brilliant watch at the Lerkendal Stadion on Sunday evening.

Backing over 3.5 goals may be a little excessive. But looking at how impressive these two sides have been in front of goal in recent weeks explains the high goal expectancy.

Both clubs have two of the five top scorers in the league which indicates there are plenty of goals when they play. Rosenborg need to win here but a high-flying Bodo side will cause plenty of problems at the other end.

Lyon vs Lille Preview

My Final selection of the weekend sees us head to France on Sunday night where Lyon host Lille at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais. I expect both sides to find the back of the net in a thrilling 90 minutes.

Both teams have scored in 10 games from 12 involving Lille and nine from 12 when Lyon take to the pitch. These are two sides that can score for fun on their day but are often caught out at the back. It means that this one could be a shootout.
