Bournemouth underwent a similar disappointment that same evening. With Gary O’Neil taking the interim managerial reins at the Vitality Stadium, there has certainly been an air of positivity. Prior to the visit of Southampton, the Cherries were unbeaten under Scott Parker’s replacement.

A run of six league matches without a loss was finally brought to an end by the Saints. It has halted Bournemouth’s momentum but has almost handed O’Neil the manager’s job on a permanent basis.
