Although Julen Lopetegui has been announced as the next Wolves manager, the Spaniard does not take the reins until Monday. By then, he will hope that the Molineux men aren’t any further adrift in the Premier League.

Three points from safety, the side currently overseen by Steve Davis has certainly struggled in recent weeks. A struggle that has seen them record just one win from their last six league attempts.

The root cause of their current woes is at the top of the pitch. Goals have undoubtedly been an issue this season and with neither Davis nor former incumbent Bruno Lage being able to solve this conundrum, it is a code that Lopetegui himself will soon need to crack.

Before the former Spain national team manager takes over, his compatriot will arrive in the West Midlands on the hunt for maximum points. Should this hunt be concluded, it will mean Arsenal go into the World Cup break as league leaders.

A status that they wrestled back from Manchester City last Sunday. Although their win over Chelsea was far from a classic, performances such as those will put them a lot closer to a league title.

However, the Gunners need to make sure they do not turn up for just the big games. If they are to win a first league crown since 2004, they will also need to avoid potential banana skins such as these.
