With another round of Premier League weekend being just around the corner, it means our Wolves vs Manchester City bet builder tips are not all that far away either. Tips that will focus on whether the hosts can build on their recent win over Southampton.
While they will also focus on the defending champions and with Pep Guardiola’s men having been held to Aston Villa in their last league outing, they will aim to return to winning ways this Saturday lunchtime.
In this article:
Saturday, September 17th, 12:30 (UK)
After getting the better of Southampton a fortnight ago and earning a first Premier League win of the season, it does look as if Wolves’ season has finally got underway. Then again, that momentum could come to a shuddering halt at the weekend.
If only because Pep Guardiola’s men are coming to town. Although they were held by Aston Villa in their last Premier League outing, you almost feel sorry for the outfit that they face next.
Because on the rare occasion that City do drop points, they have a tendency to act like a wounded animal. An animal that is hungry in the pursuit of earning maximum points once again.
Something that Wolves’ boss Bruno Lage will have to be wary of before Saturday lunchtime and although a major criticism of his side has been a lack of goals, the former Benfica boss has looked to address this issue.
That led to Diego Costa’s arrival at Molineux on a deal until the end of the season. Although he might not be the same figure who terrorised Premier League defences for Chelsea, he still knows how to rough up the opposition.
While it is his nasty streak that may just benefit Wolves going forward and although they are known for being a team that is very easy on the eye, they might need to get ugly to earn anything this weekend.
Although Wolves have picked up home wins over Manchester City in the past, it has been one-way traffic across the last couple of seasons and for those looking to cheer on Bruno Lage’s men this weekend, it could well be more the same.
Because although I think proceedings will be level in the first 10 minutes of the game, I think Wolves’ resolve will be broken not long after and even though I have plumped for an early stalemate, I think it will be nothing less than a City win on Saturday.
While for those who love the sight of a debut goalscorer, Diego Costa may be on hand to open his latest Premier League account and if your hunch points towards the Spanish international, you can back him to score anytime at odds of 5.00
Even though Diego Costa may steal some element of the limelight, the largest amount of focus will be placed on Erling Haaland and with the Norwegian having already scored 10 goals this season, there is talk of records being broken.
Records that come in the shape of the most goals in one Premier League season and with bookmakers already taking bets on him recording 35 goals or more, I think he will add to his tally against Wolves.
This is why I have added the former Borussia Dortmund to score anytime and with his strike being one of three in total, my latest bet builder serves up odds of 4.33. Not the biggest, but one that certainly makes plenty of sense.
Bet Builder odds: 4.33
