After a sluggish end to the previous Premier League season, things are not all that better for Wolves this season and with just one point earned from their first nine on offer, there are rumblings of discontent in the West Midlands.

Discontent that comes with football that is largely uninspiring, goals being at a premium and the same could also be said for points. When you combine these three factors together, it can put a rather dark cloud over the manager’s head.

A cloud that is currently brewing over Bruno Lage and although the former Benfica boss is not the favourite to lose his job first this season, odds of 17.00 for him to do so are worth some consideration.

Consideration that should be nowhere near his Newcastle counterpart Eddie Howe and after he oversaw a frenetic 3-3 draw at home to Manchester City, he will have every right to feel that two points were dropped on Tyneside.

In a game that City were expected to turn up and simply win, they were given an almighty test and one that shows that if Newcastle can play like this most weeks, then European qualification is a rather likely prospect at the end of the campaign.

Of course, Newcastle cannot just raise their game for the visit of Pep Guardiola and his cabal of superstars, they must also go to places like Molineux and earn points. While if they do, it will only enhance their top seven credentials even further.

With this in mind, I like the look of Newcastle as a double chance pick (win or draw) and if you fancy this from a standalone point of view, odds of 1.50 might be enough to tempt you into a bet.

While another aspect to consider is the discipline of players and with Wolves’ midfield usually being marshalled by Ruben Neves, he will be tasked with protecting his defence at all costs. A cost that will likely come with a booking during the game.

Another aspect to consider is that both teams may actually struggle to score this weekend. Wolves have issues in general and Newcastle’s Callum Wilson picked up an injury last Sunday afternoon.

Therefore, I think breaching either opposition net is going to be a rather premium sight at Molineux and this is why I have opted for no more than two goals in total. Of course, you could separately go for over 2.5 goals at odds of 2.10.

This means I need to add one market to add some fat to my bet builder and this time I have opted for total corners. More than seven to be exact and if this and the other three selections come good, odds of 7.50 are ready to be unlocked.
