The final group games get underway on Friday with some massive matches to finish things off in Qatar. Here at bettingexpert News, we have selected three favourite bets to make our daily World Cup acca.
In this article:
World Cup Group H, Friday, December 2nd, 15:00 (UK)
Johannesburg, South African World Cup, July 2nd, 2010.
A night etched in World Cup folklore.
Nothing separated Ghana and Uruguay with extra time almost up. Sulley Muntari’s first-half strike was cancelled out by a Diego Forlan freekick in the second half. Penalties looming.
With less than a minute to play there was a scramble in Uruguay’s box. Stephan Appiah’s close-range effort was cleared off the line by Luis Suarez. Then, Dominic Adiyiah’s goal-bound header was swept away by the arm of Suarez.
The former Liverpool frontman recoiled in disbelief when the red card was flashed his way, tears streaming down his face as he was escorted towards the tunnel.
Penalty Ghana. 120th minute.
Asamoah Gyan is one kick away from making history by making his nation the first African country to reach a World Cup semi-final.
He had already scored two penalties that tournament, against Australia and Serbia, and bagged the last-gasp winner against the USA to put the Black Stars into the quarters.
This one thumped the crossbar. Fernando Muslera saluted the woodwork. Suarez couldn’t contain his delight.
Ghana went on to lose the shootout. Suarez became a national hero. And villain.
This will be the side’s first meeting since then.
Andre Ayew may be the only remaining Ghananian from that game. Tariq Lamptey was only 10 years old when it happened. The whole Ghanaian squad will be seeking revenge.
I think with this added motivation, Ghana are a bet on the Asian handicap (+0.75). Otto Addo’s side ran Portugal close and perhaps should have put the game to bed against South Korea.
The South Americans have been pretty toothless – ironic considering who plays upfront for them – failing to score in either of their games. Their opponents are the value bet here.
World Cup Group G, Friday, December 2nd, 19:00 (UK)
Brazil only need a point to guarantee top spot after taking maximum points from their opening games.
WIth their creative catalyst, Neymar ruled out for the foreseeable future, Casemiro had to step up, scoring the only goal of the game against Switzerland.
Given their stronghold on Group C, Tite is expected to shuffle his deck here, with one eye on the knockout stages.
Cameroon need a victory to stand any chance of qualification, a daunting prospect against five-time world champions Selecao. The Indomitable Lions must also hope Serbia draw or beat the Swiss by a one-goal margin.
Rigobert Song’s side have only picked up one point but the manner in which they came back from two goals down against Serbia to secure it will galvanise the group.
A comeback inspired by Vincent Aboubakar who scored a sumptuous scoop and set up the equaliser. The frontman has staked his claim to start alongside Eric Choupo-Moting here.
Gabriel Jesus is expected to get the rod here, ahead of his North London counterpart, and I think at 2.75, his price in the anytime goalscorer market is too large.
Arsenal’s frontman has found the net 19 times for his nation in 56 appearances, a goals-per-90 average of 0.47.
World Cup Group G, Friday, December 2nd, 19:00 (UK)
It is a game riddled with geopolitical narrative and qualification connotations, setting us for another enthralling conclusion to a group stage in Qatar.
Serbia must win. It is the only way they stand any chance of getting out of Group C. However, they must hope Cameroon do not beat Brazil and if they do, it means the Eagles must overcome the African nation’s superior goal difference.
Dragan Stojkovic will be disappointed to see his side in this predicament, one point from two games, especially considering how their opening matches went.
It took tournament favourites Brazil over an hour to break the deadlock. Serbia then found themselves 3-1 up against Cameroon with less than half an hour to play before squandering that lead.
As for Switzerland, their victory over Cameroon means they sit in 2nd spot, meaning a point should stake Nati through, barring a shot in the Brazil game.
The last time these sides met there were four cards and with Argentine referee Fernando Rapallini overseeing this game, we could see plenty once more.
The South American has averaged 5.88 cards per game in his native Liga Profesional.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s price of 4.00 for a card looks big. Over the course of his career, he has averaged 0.26 cards per 90 domestically.

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
