The World Cup is right around the corner, here at bettingexpert News we have selected our three favourite Group Stage bets with totally different prices, but they all provide some nice value in Qatar.
In this article:
I’m kicking off the preview with my lowest priced selection, but I can’t see slipping up. I’ve backed Kasper Hjulmand and his nation to have a very impressive World Cup campaign and they can certainly be dark horses in Qatar.
They’re 1.33 to reach the knockout stage with current holders France huge favourites coming in at a tiny 1.10 as the best price but I can’t see a huge amount between the sides at this current stage.
The Danes got the upper hand in both meetings against Les Bleus in the Nations League over the recent months, which will of course provide plenty of confidence when they met again at Stadium 974 in Doha in round two.
Backing Denmark to qualify from Group D definitely seems like a sensible angle to take, Tunisia and Australia will provide tough competitors but should ultimately fall short which is backed up by the odds.
Jadel Kadri’s side are 6.00 to provide a shock with the Aussies slightly shorter at 5.50, there’s no questioning who the bookmakers believe will make the knockouts.
I certainly wouldn’t put anyone off backing Denmark to top the group at a more juicy price of 3.75 either, given the way they can perform.
Group A up next, and South America’s Ecuador are a nation I believe can navigate through a tricky group to call. Senegal, Netherlands and host nation Qatar are amongst the other competitors who’ll be fighting it out over just two spots.
The Senegalese have suffered a huge blow before a ball has even been kicked, star man Sadio Mane picked up an injury for Bayern Munich. He’s in the squad but has huge question marks over his fitness heading into the competition.
Qatar may be a little out of their depth here despite having home advantage. They’ve never participated in this competition before which could bring plenty of nerves. The Dutch are clear favourites, there’s no doubt they have the strongest squad and will be the team to beat.
Despite being just friendly matches, Ecuador have been a solid outfit given they haven’t conceded a goal in their last five games. They’ve got a squad that can grind out results with experienced players alongside a handful of younger talents playing in Europe and across South America.
Japan are a nation you may not have expected to see on this article given their grou but at the price on offer, I really can’t turn it down.
Part of this selection is because I really don’t rate Spain. They’re hugely overpriced given their squad, especially in attacking areas.
Judging Japan based on the Asian Qualifiers is tricky given the quality of the competition. However, they did have a respectable campaign in Russia four years ago. It could’ve been so much better if Belgium didn’t turn it around late on.
Germany and Costa Rica are the other two contestants in Group E with Costa Rica the heavy favourites to finish rock bottom. The Germans haven’t been quite so convincing in recent performances either with just a single win in their previous six competitive outings.
I like this selection a lot. Japan have a huge amount of talent with players such as Tomiyasu, Minamino, Kaoru Mitoma and Europa League winner, Daichi Kamada at their disposal. 4.33 is a rather big price and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if one of Spain or Germany perform poorly which will allow Hajime Moriyasu’s squad who are ‘burning with ambition’ to sneak their way into the top two spots.

A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
