Travis Kelce and Miles Sanders are the only players ahead of Isiah Pacheco in this market. After tipping Kelce for Super Bowl MVP, it is definitely worth considering the Chiefs tight end here.
Sanders, on the other hand, is a player to stay away from given his limited (or non-existent) use in the Eagles’ passing game. He has had over 61 total yards once in the last four games.
Patrick Mahomes is not blessed with high-end wide receiving talent, so Pacheco has a bigger role to play as a receiver than Sanders does. Pacheco might be a rookie, but he has been crucial for the Chiefs down the stretch, with 101 and 85 total yards over his two postseason appearances.
Philly is a better pass defence than a rush defence. It is clear Pacheco should have a hefty workload here, and could be a pass option for Mahomes when put under pressure. The rookie is good value at this price.
- Selection: Isiah Pacheco
- Best Odds: 6.00 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 2/10
Total Sacks In The Game Best Bet
These teams were two of the top four in quarterback hits and the top two in sacks during the regular season. There were eight total sacks when the Chiefs faced the Bengals, and the Eagles pass rush harassed the New York Giants in the Divisional Round.
Mahomes was sacked three times by the Bengals. His ankle didn’t seem to trouble him too much, yet such an injury is bound to impact his mobility to an extent, making it tougher to dodge Eagles pass rushers. Hurts has been sacked in every game this season, taking multiple in all but five.
Both defences have shown all year they can get to the quarterback on a regular basis. Both quarterbacks have a tendency to hold the ball. That makes the over a solid wager here.
- Selection: Over 5.5
- Best Odds: 2.00 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 5/10
Roughing The Passer Penalty Best Bet
In-keeping with the total sacks prop, a roughing the passer penalty is more likely if teams are sending pressure. These defences both ranked around league average in penalties per game during the regular season.
Hurts and Mahomes trying to dance in the pocket could lure the defence into being overly aggressive when there’s an apparent opportunity for a sack.
The current rules are not to everyone’s liking, but the officials will be looking to protect the two quarterbacks on Sunday.
- Selection: Either team to commit a roughing the passer penalty
- Best Odds: 2.75 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 4/10
