In a special game at lunchtime on Saturday, I’ve gone for a bet builder of 12.00 odds as two sides aim to return to winning ways.
In this article:
Not often do we have a rather quiet Saturday in the Premier League but that is the case this time around. It explains why I called this match ‘special’ as it is the only fixture taking place.
Both sides did experience poor starts to the season but seem to have turned things around in recent times.
Arsenal find themselves realistically in the hunt for a Champions League spot after a sustained run of positive form. A five-game winning streak was brought to an end at the hands of Liverpool in midweek, having suffered a 2-0 loss despite a spirited performance.
Sitting in fourth place, the Gunners are now just one point ahead of Manchester United in fifth and three ahead of West Ham and bitter rivals Tottenham. However, they do have games in hand that could yet change the dynamics of things.
In a similar fashion, Aston Villa also saw their three-game winning streak ruined by West Ham last time out, courtesy of a 2-1 score-line.

While the Villains look destined for a mid-table finish, they are well on course for their highest league finish in a decade, meaning they still have a lot to play for.
However, Arsenal need the points more than the hosts and I can see them edging out this one in a game with a good prospect for goals. While the Gunners have won their last four games on the road, Steven Gerrard’s men have only one win in five at Villa Park.
Arsenal have scored at least a goal in their last six away games and I am backing them to continue that run in Birmingham. By no means will Villa prove easy to beat but it might be a case of who outscores the other as I predict both teams getting on the score sheet as well.
Both sides have inspiring players of their own as Phillipe Coutinho has dazzled of late while Martin Odegaard continues to prove Arsenal made the right decision to sign him permanently.
An extra tip for this game could be Over 2.5 goals, seeing as this fixture has proven to be one for goals down the years, including the reverse fixture which ended 3-1 in favour of the Gunners in late October.
Arsenal might have improved defensively but Aston Villa have more than enough firepower to trouble their guests and I can see them getting on the score sheet at least once. It will also prove to be a difficult task, keeping the Gunners from scoring all game. An early goal could be crucial here but I am backing Arsenal to get the much needed points at Villa Park.
Due to the attacking nature of both sides, I am expecting to see over nine corners from both teams combined. With Granit Xhaka in the lineup, Arsenal are almost guaranteed a booking while Bukayo Saka’s propensity to draw fouls could see Villa get in the book as well.

A bet builder is a kind of accumulator bet solely focussed on one match. A standard acca features multiple selections across different selections combined together into one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to the American prop bet, the bet builder goes into detail on a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
