Augsburg vs Mainz Best Bet

In their last five games, Markus Weinzierl’s Augsburg side have done a remarkable job of putting some distance between themselves and the relegation spots, having picked up seven points, with a notable draw with Borussia Dortmund late last month and then a spirited win over Arminia Bielefeld last week.
If the Bavarian minnows are to avoid the drop, they’ll likely have their home form to thank for it, with just four defeats from 12 league games at the Augsburg Arena this season. And there’s no doubt that Weinzierl’s side will be hoping to add to that tally when Mainz visit on Saturday.
That’s largely because Bo Svensson’s side have been truly terrible on the road this season, with just seven points from 12 games – the second worst return for away games in the league. In fact, Mainz have only won one of their last 10 away games in all competitions.
When we add that horrid form to the fact that Svensson’s team will be without Dominik Kohr and Alexander Hack through suspension, then it seems as though this game is perfectly set for Augsburg to claim all three points.

Freiburg vs Wolfsburg Best Bet

Although Freiburg will be in a relatively buoyant mood after taking a point off RB Leipzig last weekend, they’ll be tasked with an equally tough task this time around when they welcome Wolfsburg to the Europa-Park Stadion.
Although Christian Streich’s side are currently unbeaten in their last five home games in the Bundesliga and have won more points in this current league campaign at this point than any other before it since 1994/95, they’ll have to get the better of an equally impressive Wolfsburg.
Indeed, Florian Kohfeldt’s side have undoubtedly turned a corner lately, with three wins from their last five games – which is more victories than their previous 16 league games combined. Union Berlin, Eintracht Frankfurt and Greuther Furth have all fallen to the Wolves in recent weeks and Freiburg may too.
As such, this result will likely be too close to call. And with both sides conceding just nine goals between them over the past five matchdays, we should expect a cagey and low-scoring clash.

Saturday’s “Topspiel” between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha Berlin is undoubtedly a potential relegation six-pointer between two of the Bundesliga’s most underperforming teams this season. And as such, we should probably expect to see a lot of goals.
That’s mostly down to the fact that neither side seems capable of defending this season. For example, Adi Hutter’s Foals have conceded an average of 2.0 goals per game, while their visitors on Saturday have been even worse with an equally dispiriting average of 2.3 conceded goals per match.
To the continued annoyance of Gladbach fans this season, their team do seem capable of scoring goals – with no less than 15 in their last 10 games – but seema just as likely to concede them too.
As such, while the home side should go into this game as favourites, it seems far more likely that we’ll see an end-to-end match between two desperate sides that simply don’t know how to defend their own goal.
