Hungary vs Montenegro: Low-Scoring Affair at Puskás Aréna

European Championship Qualifiers, Sunday, November 19th, 14:00 (UK)

This clash will have a huge bearing on the landscape of the group. Hungary currently occupy top spot in Group G, but need a win here to ensure they stay ahead of Serbia who are close behind. A draw would be enough for the home side due to their superior head-to-head record against the Serbs.

Montenegro’s only hope of qualifying is a win, but even that may not be enough with Serbia travelling to Bulgaria. When Montenegro welcomed Hungary earlier in the qualifiers, the game finished 0-0.

There is no urgency for the home side to score and they are the derived favourites. Hungary have managed to keep a clean sheet in two of their three home qualifiers, so I expect a low-scoring affair here. Hungary’s last 10 home matches have seen an average of two goals per game.

The previous meeting between these sides saw very few chances. There were just four shots on target throughout the 90 minutes. Neither side was able to fashion any clear-cut chances, as Hungary dominated the ball with 72% possession.

Portugal vs Iceland: Portugal Looking for 10 in a Row

European Championship Qualifiers, Sunday, November 19th, 19:45 (UK)

Portugal stormed to their 9th consecutive victory midweek with a routine 2-0 win over Liechtenstein. They have a perfect record since Roberto Martinez took the reins and will be looking to make it a perfect 30 points when they host Iceland in their final qualifier.

Qualification is already beyond Iceland. They have picked up 10 points across their nine matches. Åge Hareide’s side put in a spirited display against Slovakia in their last game, but eventually succumbed to a 4-2 defeat.

The Portuguese have been menacing since the World Cup. They are averaging 3.78 goals per game with Ronaldo and co. filling their boots at every opportunity. Their four home matches under Martinez have seen them average 4.75 goals per game and this bet has landed in all of them.

Iceland have conceded three goals or more in three of their four qualifying matches on the road. The exception was the 7-0 win over Liechtenstein. They are taking on the most rampant side in the qualifiers, so they should ship a few here.

  • Selection: Portugal To Win & Over 2 Goals For Portugal

Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Slovakia: Slovakia Solidify 2nd Place in Group J

European Championship Qualifiers, Sunday, November 19th, 19:45 (UK)

Bosnia have collected nine points from their nine matches and are behind both Iceland and Luxembourg in the group. They have struggled for consistency and will miss out on the tournament as a result. Their home form has been a particular concern.

Slovakia have their qualification for next summer’s tournament all wrapped up after the win over Iceland midweek. There is no incentive for them here, but they will be looking to finish the campaign on a positive note.

Bosnia were hammered 5-0 by Portugal in their last match on home soil. They have also been beaten at home by Luxembourg in this campaign and only managed a narrow 2-1 win at home to Liechtenstein. They are up against it when they take on an in-form Slovakia.

The Slovakians recorded a run-of-the-mill 2-0 win when these sides met back in March. They have won six of their last eight matches, with the only defeats coming against Portugal. Both of those setbacks were by a one-goal margin. Their only loss on the road in their last five was in Portugal.

  • Selection: Slovakia To Win
  • Best Odds: 2.87
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 6/10
