Aston Villa vs Brighton: Astute Tacticians Take Centre Stage

England, Premier League, Saturday, September 30th, 12:30 (UK)

Aston Villa were sublime after Unai Emery took charge last season, and they look set for another strong campaign. They are 6th and have the chance to draw level on points with Brighton with a win here. They beat Chelsea last weekend despite having the burden of European football in the week prior to the match.

Brighton are three points above Aston Villa and 3rd in the Premier League. Roberto De Zerbi’s men have made a flying start to the season despite losing some key midfielders in the summer. The Seagulls are expected to challenge for Europe once again this season.

Aston Villa’s matches are seeing the 5th fewest shots in the Premier League so far this season. There have been an average of 22 attempts in their two home matches. Since Emery took over from Steve Gerrard, Villa’s home league matches are averaging just 21.2 shots per game.

Brighton ranks highly in terms of shots, but their last away match in the league saw just 24 in the game. The Seagulls’ matches against Villa last season saw 20 and 15 shots. This bet has landed in Brighton’s previous three visits to Villa Park.

  • Selection: Under 25.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace: Repeat Performance for the Red Devils?

England, Premier League, Saturday, September 30th, 15:00 (UK)

These sides have already met this week when they squared off in the League Cup. The personnel will be different for this one, and just one point separates these sides. Manchester United have won three of their opening six matches after being plagued by injury in the early stages of the season.

Crystal Palace were beaten 3-0 by United midweek, but Roy Hodgson chose to rest several of his key players. He will expect to see more fight from his team on this occasion. The Eagles are 10th in the league, but their last victory came against Wolves at the start of September.

Manchester United enjoyed complete domination in the League Cup victory. However, they only managed 14 attempts despite enjoying 69% possession. They have had 16 shots or fewer in the last four matches against Palace at Old Trafford.

The Eagles’ opponents are averaging 12 shots per game in the Premier League this season. No team has hit the 17-shot mark against Roy Hodgson’s side. They have already faced the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa.

  • Selection: Under 16.5 shots For Manchester United (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Everton vs Luton: Shoot First Ask Questions Later

England, Premier League, Saturday, September 30th, 15:00 (UK)

Everton picked up a much-needed win away to Brentford last weekend. Sean Dyche’s men are now on four points and will be buoyed by the 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the League Cup. The Toffees have climbed up to 15th, but they remain just three points above the relegation zone.

Luton are still awaiting their first win in the Premier League. They could only manage a draw against 10-man Wolves last weekend. They had an xG of 2.17 in comparison to Wolves’ 0.59, but they had to settle for a 1-1- draw. Rob Edwards’ side were beaten 1-0 by Exeter midweek.

Everton’s league matches so far this season have seen an average of 26 shots per game. This bet has landed in two of their three matches at Goodison; the exception was the defeat against Arsenal. The encounter with Luton should be far more open, with both teams favouring a direct approach.

Luton showed plenty of attacking impetus in their most recent league match. They were racking up the shots well before Wolves received a red and finished the game with 20 attempts. Everton have lost all three of their home matches so far, so Luton will be seeking three points.

  • Selection: Over 24.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Tottenham vs Liverpool: Klopp’s Kitchen Sink Approach

England, Premier League, Saturday, September 30th, 17:30 (UK)

Tottenham’s draw at the Emirates last weekend highlighted them as a real threat. Ange Postecoglou’s side fought back from a goal behind on two occasions and had chances to win the match in the dying moments. This weekend’s clash with Liverpool is the perfect opportunity for the showcase that they are one of the big boys this season.

Liverpool have won their five Premier League matches since drawing at Stamford Bridge on the opening day. The defensive issues remain, but Liverpool’s formidable front line means that Klopp’s men are capable of outscoring any opposition.

Tottenham remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season, but like Liverpool, they aren’t solid at the back. They are conceding the 5th most shots in the division, with their opponents averaging 13.33 per game. They shipped 22 attempts when beating Manchester United at this ground earlier in the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s team have been getting plenty of shots away thus far. They’re averaging 17.17 shots per game in the Premier League. Liverpool are also averaging 15.8 shots across their last five matches against Tottenham despite being far from their best last season.

  • Selection: Over 14.5 Shots For Liverpool (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford: The Bees Lack Sting in the Forest

England, Premier League, Sunday, October 1st, 14:00 (UK)

Nottingham Forest are 12th heading into this weekend. However, Steve Cooper will be delighted with the season, having already played Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal. He will be keen to ensure his team return to winning ways on home turf against Brentford.

Brentford are without a win in their last four Premier League matches, and they have suffered three consecutive defeats in competitive games. They were competing for a place in Europe for much of last season, but a slow start has left them with work to do.

Nottingham Forest’s matches are seeing the 2nd fewest shots with an average of 23.33. Only Fulham matches have seen less after six matches. This bet has landed in four of their games. This bet fell short in their trips to Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge. There have been 24 shots or less in both of their matches at the City Ground.

Brentford’s last away match in the Premier League saw just 20 shots. There were 19 shots the last time they squared off against Forest and 21 the last time they visited this stadium.

  • Selection: Under 25.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Fulham vs Chelsea: Cagey Affair at the Cottage

England, Premier League, Monday, October 2nd, 20:00 (UK)

It was a tumultuous summer for Fulham. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Marco Silva were courted by clubs in Saudi Arabia, and their preparation for the season seemed far from ideal. Silva eventually started, and the team have picked up eight points from their opening six matches.

Chelsea slumped to a 12th-place finish last season. They look set to struggle once against and have managed just one win in their opening six matches. Mauricio Pochettino’s side were reduced to 10 men as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Aston Villa last weekend. The Blues need to bounce back with a win here to avoid the gap to the top six widening.

Fulham’s matches so far have seen the 3rd fewest tackles in the Premier League, with an average of 30.67 per game. There were just 29 when they welcomed Chelsea to Craven Cottage last season.
Chelsea matches are also averaging fewer tackles than the line for this one. The average of 32.67 tackles per Chelsea match is the sixth-lowest in the division. This bet has landed in both of the club’s away matches under Pochettino.

  • Selection: Under 33.5 In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10
