This week’s Premier League Props acca tips has all of the televised action covered, including a mouthwatering Super Sunday. Our expert, Scott Thornton, has six bets for us this week and also introduces a new market to our weekly content offering.

We kick things off at Kenilworth Road with Luton vs Tottenham, but the undoubted highlight is Sunday’s doubleheader. It’s Brighton vs Liverpool before Arsenal vs Manchester City at the Emirates.

Acca odds: 56.00

Odds via bet365 as at 10:45, October 5th 2023. Odds may now differ.

Luton vs Tottenham: Have a dig at Kenilworth

England, Premier League, Saturday, October 7th, 12:30 (UK)

Luton suffered a home defeat against Burnley midweek and will be looking to return to winning ways here. They escaped the bottom three by beating Everton but are in danger of slipping back into the relegation zone with a defeat here. Nobody had high hopes for Rob Edwards’ side ahead of the campaign, but they have shown they can be competitive in the opening months.

Tottenham’s win over Liverpool has been the topic of much discussion this week after a glaring error in the VAR booth denied Klopp’s side a goal. Despite the controversy, Ange Postecoglou will be delighted with his team’s win and performance. Spurs could emerge as surprise title contenders if their form continues.

Luton have put their best foot forward at Kenilworth Road so far and shown a great deal of attacking intent. They’ve averaged 18 shots per game across their three home matches in the Premier League. Although this is a small sample size, it illustrates their direct approach to paying dividends in terms of chance creation.

Tottenham matches top the charts in terms of shots, and we can expect to see plenty here. The average of 32.86 shots per Spurs game is well above the league average of 27.69.

  • Selection: Over 28.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Everton vs Bournemouth: Troubled Times for the Toffees

England, Premier League, Saturday, October 7th, 15:00 (UK)

Everton are set to fight it out at the bottom once again this season. They handed Luton their first win of the season last weekend, and that will have done nothing to ease the tension ahead of this match. The Toffees have lost their four league matches at Goodison this season.

Bournemouth are yet to win a Premier League match under Andoni Iraola, and their decision to sack Gary O’Neil is questionable at this stage. The Cherries have opted to try and implement a style that will benefit the club in the future, but they’ll need to secure their place in the top flight this season.

Scoring remains a massive issue for Sean Dyche’s team, but there has been no shortage of attempts. Only five more teams have averaged more shots per game than Everton this campaign. They had 23 in their defeat to Luton last weekend, and desperation could start to kick in as the Everton faithful crave a home win.

Bournemouth conceded the most shots in the Premier League last season, with their opponents having 16.47 shots per match. They may have changed the manager, but they have still afforded their opponents plenty of opportunities. They are conceding an average of 20 shots per game across their three away matches so far.

  • Selection: Over 15.5 Shots For Everton (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest: You’ve Seen an Eagle Fly, But Have You Seen One Dribble?

England, Premier League, Saturday, October 7th, 17:30 (UK)

Crystal Palace won at Old Trafford last weekend, and they will be full of confidence ahead of a home clash with Nottingham Forest. The win saw them climb into the top half of the table, but Steve Cooper’s men are hot on their heels ahead of the weekend.

Nottingham Forest took four points from their two matches against the Eagles last season. Cooper’s team have started the season reasonably well. They have secured two wins and two draws in seven games. The performance levels have been good across all of their matches, and they will be hopeful of avoiding a relegation battle this term.

Wilfried Zaha may have departed in the summer, but Crystal Palace have remained the most tackled team in the top flight in the early part of this season. Their opponents are averaging 22.29 tackles per game so far. Since the draw with Arsenal, their opponents at Selhurst Park have had 26 and 27 tackles.

Nottingham Forest have taken on four of the traditional ‘big-six’ in their away matches and are averaging 19.25 tackles per match on the road. Those sides are forcing an average of 16.72 tackles per game between them, well below the numbers against Crystal Place.

  • Selection: Over 20.5 Tackles For Nottingham Forest (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Wolves vs Aston Villa: Confidence Can Aid the Shot Count

England, Premier League, Sunday, October 8th, 14:00 (UK)

Wolves stunned the champions last weekend as they earned a memorable 2-1 victory over Pep Guardiola’s behemoth. The win moved Gary O’Neil’s side three points clear of the drop zone, but they face another stern test this weekend. Wolves won this fixture 1-0 last season and will be looking for a repeat performance here.

Aston Villa’s clash with Brighton last weekend was one of the most highly-anticipated matches of the weekend, but few could have expected the result. Unai Emery’s side won 6-1 and showed just how clinical they can be. Their rampant attack will be keen to continue their good form on their trip to Wolves.

This bet has landed in all three of Wolves matches at Molineux so far this season with an average of 28.33 shots per game. Gary O’Neil’s side should give this a real go following the win over Manchester City, which will only help the shot count.

While Aston Villa matches aren’t highly ranked in terms of shots, this bet has landed in all four of their away matches with an average of 27.25 shots per game. This is well above the required mark for this bet to land.

  • Selection: Over 24.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Brighton vs Liverpool: Sides Looking to Soar Above Last Week’s Disappointments

England, Premier League, Sunday, October 8th, 14:00 (UK)

Brighton were left licking their wounds after their humbling at Villa Park, but there will be no panic in the Seagulls camp. Roberto De Zerbi will look to address the issues that plagued them in that defeat. He will take encouragement from the fact they have won their last two matches against Liverpool.

Liverpool have made headlines this week after they were robbed of a perfectly good goal against Spurs by the VAR officials. The Reds have looked like the side that contested the title for a number of seasons once again, and they will be looking to exercise the demons lurking from last week’s injustice when they take on Brighton.

Brighton’s opposition keeper is averaging 4.86 saves per game across their seven Premier League matches. Over 3.5 saves has landed in three of their four home match so far, and they have forced the 3rd most saves in the division to this point.

Alisson made five saves the last time Liverpool visited the Amex Arena in the league. This bet has landed in three of their four away matches so far this season, with an average of five saves per game.

  • Selection: Over 3.5 Saves For Alisson (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.25
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Arsenal vs Manchester City: The Apprentice Can Overtake the Master

England, Premier League, Sunday, October 8th, 16:30 (UK)

A mouthwatering Super Sunday is rounded off with Arsenal hosting Manchester City. These sides went toe-to-toe for the title last season, and the Gunners are expected to be City’s primary challenger once again. Arteta’s men are just one point off the league leaders coming into this one.

Last weekend’s defeat at Wolves proved that Manchester City are only human. The drop points have allowed the chasing pack to close in, and there is pressure on Pep Guardiola’s team coming into this one. City swept all before them last season and secured a 3-1 win at the Emirates in the process. A repeat of that result would be a massive boost for the visitors.

Arsenal are forcing 18.14 tackles per game so far this season. At the Emirates last campaign, Arsenal’s opponents averaged 17 tackles. Both of these numbers are well above the required mark for this bet to land.

Manchester City, unsurprisingly, ranks as having the fewest tackles in the Premier League. Pep’s team dominate possession every week, but this is not a typical fixture. They had 17 tackles in this match last season and had 15 in the Community Shield this season.

  • Selection: Over 14.5 Tackles For Man City
  • Best Odds: 2.10
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 6/10
