Fulham vs Manchester United: Fulham Chasing Elusive Win

England, Premier League, Saturday 4th November, 12:30 (UK)

Fulham drew away to Brighton last weekend and secured an away win at Ipswich midweek. They haven’t beaten Manchester United in any of the last 20 meetings but there time like the present. It took a last-minute Garnacho goal to deny them a point in this fixture last season.

Erik Ten Hag’s trainwreck continued in the week as Manchester United slumped to back-to-back 3-0 home defeats. Pressure is building on the Dutchman and Champions League qualification already looks too big of an ask for this United side in disarray.

Marco Silva’s side have forced plenty of goal kicks in their five league matches at Craven Cottage this season. Their opponents across those games are averaging 8.25 per game. They also forced nine goal kicks when they last took on Manchester United.

The Red Devils are averaging 6.5 goal kicks per game but this is largely down to them falling behind early on against some historically lesser teams. Fulham aren’t as incisive in attack without Mitrovic so I don’t expect them to storm ahead here despite the visitors being lacklustre.

  • Selection: Over 7.5 Goal Kicks For Manchester United
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Sheffield United vs Wolves: A Blade Can’t Fend off a Pack of Wolves

England, Premier League, Saturday 4th November, 15:00 (UK)

Sheffield United have assumed the role of the Premier League’s whipping boys. They have lost their last six matches in the league and are conceding 3.67 goals per game over this period. The solitary point they have picked up puts them 20th in the table, five points from safety.

Wolves endured a tumultuous summer but Gary O’Neil has done a brilliant job in galvanising the squad. They’ve beaten Manchester City and earned a point against Aston Villa and Newcastle in recent weeks. They sit in 12th place and have the chance to climb into the top half with a win.

Sheffield United are conceding the most chances in the league. They have the highest xGA with 27.46 and their opponents are averaging 20.3 shots per game. Manchester United are the only side to travel to Bramall Lane and not manage 15 shots, they had 14.

Wolves have performed well but rank low in terms of shots. They are averaging 11.9 per game this season but expect them to have plenty against the Blades.

  • Selection: Over 14.5 Shots For Wolves
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Newcastle vs Arsenal: Early season setbacks in rear view

England, Premier League, Saturday 4th November, 17:30 (UK)

Newcastle have recovered from their early season setbacks and are right amongst it again. They come into this weekend six points behind fourth place Liverpool but they have suffered just one defeat in their last 10 competitive matches.

Arsenal’s early season form has been exceptional. They look as though they have the quality to end Manchester City’s dominance and sit just two points behind Tottenham. Arteta has struck the right balance with his team since altering his tactics in the season’s opening games. They won this fixture 2-0 last season and another three points would put them in a strong position.

The average tackles in a Premier League match this season has risen to 34.75 and while Newcastle’s matches rank amongst the lowest in terms of tackling, the numbers against Arsenal are promising. Their were 41 tackles in this fixture last season and 36 in the match at the Emirates.

The Gunners’ matches are averaging 35.40 tackles per game. Their last two league matches on the road have seen 36 and 44 tackles. Their last five matches in the league overall have seen an average of 40.8 tackles per game.

  • Selection: Over 31.5 Tackles In The Match
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa: Measured Approach Reducing Tackles

England, Premier League, Sunday 5th November, 14:00 (UK)

Nottingham Forest haven’t won a match since they picked up all three points at Stamford Bridge at the start of September. They have earned four points since but the winless run has seen them slip to 16th in the table. There is still a five-point gap between Steve Cooper’s side and the relegation zone but he will be acutely aware that things need to improve.

Aston Villa are in fine form and Champions League football is a real possibility under the tutelage of Unai Emery. They’ve lost just two Premier League matches this season and are a deadly attacking force.

Steve Cooper’s side’s home matches are averaging 29 tackles per Premier League match so far this season, well below the league average. This bet has landed in their three matches at the City Ground since taking on Sheffield United in August.

Villa’s matches have seen the 2nd fewest tackles in the league overall and there have been 30 tackles or fewer in four of their five away matches. Their last match on the road against Wolves saw just 20 tackles.

  • Selection: Under 30.5 Tackles In The Match
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Luton vs Liverpool: Liverpool Lay Siege to Luton

England, Premier League, Sunday 5th November, 16:30 (UK)

Luton arrived in the Premier League without the burden of expectation. They were widely fancied to go down and after 10 games, it seems the best they can hope for is a fighting chance. They have picked up five points thus far. Rob Edwards will be happy that his side aren’t marooned at the bottom like Sheffield United.

Last season was all about the rebuild for Liverpool. Now they are back to something like their best and they are one of a few teams that look capable of winning the title. Despite being a force for several years, Klopp’s side have only won the league once so he will be keen to ensure his team keep up with the pace in this campaign.

Luton’s home matches have seen plenty of goal kicks. The pitch dimensions at Kenilworth Road are on the smaller side and their direct approach has meant their opponents are averaging 12.5 goal kicks when they travel there in the league.

Liverpool are averaging nine goals kicks per league away game this season. Klopp’s tea, should be able to force plenty from Luton as they lay siege to their goal.

  • Selection: Over 16.5 Goal Kicks In The Match
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Tottenham vs Chelsea: Chelsea are in the Firing Line

England, Premier League, Monday 6th November, 20:00 (UK)

Tottenham are the unlikely leaders at this stage With Ange Postecoglou transforming the team in a short space of time. Performances have been stellar with Spurs ranking as one of the bets attacking sides in the league despite the loss of Harry Kane. They beat Chelsea 2-0 in this fixture last season but it was their only win over their London rivals in 14 head-to-heads.

Chelsea’s woes continued last weekend. They were unable to find the net despite dominating the ball at home the Brentford. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have shown improvements in terms of performance and they have won their last two matches on the road.

Spurs’ newfound attacking impetus has meant they are the most frequent shooters in the league with an average of 17.8. Their matches overall are averaging 30.5 attempts, only Liverpool’s have seen more. The average shots per Tottenham game rises to 33.75 when playing at home.

The Blues’ matches haven’t seen a great deal of shots with an average of 25 per game but the fact that this is a derby should mean that both teams are keen to go for it, particularly in the latter stages.

  • Selection: Over 26.5 Shots In The Match
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10
