Newcastle vs Everton: Home comforts

England, Premier League, Tuesday, 2nd April, 19:30 (UK)

Newcastle secured a memorable comeback in their last match as they beat West Ham 4-3. Harvey Barnes was the difference maker on that occasion and the team are back in European contention as a result. They are now just five points behind Manchester United.

Everton are just three points clear of the relegation zone with nine games left to play. Points deductions have had a huge impact on the landscape at the bottom of the Premier League this season but the Toffees’ recent results have been poor. They are now on a run of nine matches without a win.

Eddie Howe’s side have had 16 shots or more in six of their last eight league matches at St. James’s Park, They are averaging 19.25 attempts per game over that period. The games where they failed to hit the 16 mark came against Manchester City and Wolves.

The Toffees are conceding an average of 15.6 shots per away game in the league this season. This bet has won in five of their last six visits to this ground. Newcastle are averaging 17 shots in those matches.

  • Selection: Over 15.5 Shots For Newcastle (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83

West Ham vs Tottenham: Hammers turning a corner

England, Premier League, Wednesday, 2nd April, 20:15 (UK)

West Ham looked to have all three points in the bag in their last match but they squandered a two-goal lead and went on to lose the game. The 4-3 defeat has hurt their chances of securing a place in Europe for next season. The Hammers are now without a win in their last three Premier League matches.

Tottenham are knocking on the door of the top four. Ange Postecoglou has done an exceptional job in his first season and they are on course to secure a place in the Champions League. They are currently three points behind Aston Villa having played a game more.

The Hammers’ opponents in their home match in the league have seen an average of 6.73 goal kicks. They have played six Premier League matches at the London Stadium in 2024 and their opponents have had at least seven goal kicks in five of those matches. Arsenal were the only opponent where this bet didn’t win.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are great going forward but can be found wanting at the back at times. They come under some pressure during away matches as they average of 7.79 goal kicks per away game in the league.

  • Selection: Over 6.5 Goal Kicks For Tottenham (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.10
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Arsenal vs Luton: Dominance leads to fewer duels

England, Premier League, Wednesday, 3rd April, 19:30 (UK)

Arsenal surrendered 1st place in the Premier League at the weekend. Mikel Arteta’s side defended deep and seemed content with the draw against Manchester City. They should show more attacking intent when they host Luton on Wednesday night. The Gunners must ensure they keep pace with Liverpool in the title race.

Luton are back in the bottom three after Nottingham Forest drew with Crystal Palace on Saturday. Rob Edwards’ side took the lead at Tottenham through Tahith Chong but were unable to hold on. This game will be viewed as a free hit by the Hatters, who aren’t expected to pick up any points at the Emirates.

Arteta’s side have made the third-fewest tackles in the league with an average of 15.61 per game. Expect this number to drop as they dominate possession against a Luton side that are looking to cling on. Arsenal made just eight tackles in their last home match in this competition.

Luton are forcing an average of 18.55 tackles per game this season but backing unders looks the way to go here. The Gunners made just 13 tackles in the reverse fixture.

  • Selection: Under 15.5 Tackles For Arsenal (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Manchester City vs Aston Villa: A Clash for the Unders

England, Premier League, Wednesday, 3rd April, 20:15 (UK)

Manchester City played out a bore 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday. The game failed to live up to its billing but Pep Guardiola’s side were in the ascendency. City had the lion’s share of possession and created better opportunities. They will want to return to winning ways by taking revenge on Aston Villa.

The Villains are still in the driving seat in the race for 4th spot. 5th spot could still be rewarded with a place in the Champions League but they will still be looking to finish ahead of Tottenham. Aston Villa beat Manchester City 1-0 earlier in the season, conceding just two shots all game. They will need to pull another brilliant performance out of the bag to win at the Etihad.

These side’s matches have seen the fewest goal kicks in the league. City matches have seen an average of 12.32. This drops to 11.79 at the Etihad. There were 11 goal kicks when Pep’s men lost at Villa Park earlier in the season. The last head-to-head with Emery’s outfit at this ground saw 10 goal kicks.

Villa matches are averaging 12.21 goal kicks per game. This bet has won in six of their last eight Premier League away matches.

  • Selection: Under 12.5 Goal Kicks In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Liverpool vs Sheffield United: Limited visiting action

England, Premier League, Thursday, 4th April, 19:30 (UK)

Liverpool dug deep to fight back from one goal down to beat Brighton in their last game. They now enjoy a two-point lead over Arsenal and a three-point lead over Manchester City in the league. Jurgen Klopp is aiming to end his time at the club on a high and his team are expected to make light work of the Blades.

Many have had Sheffield United down for the drop since the opening weeks of the season. They threw away a 3-1 lead in their last match and it would take a monumental effort for them to survive at this stage. However, they remain just seven points from safety so there is a slim bit of hope for Chris Wilder.

This should be nothing but one-way traffic. Klopp’s team are averaging just over 60% possession at Anfield this season and they take on the side that sees the least of the ball with an average of 35%. That gives the visitors very few opportunities to shoot. Moreover, Liverpool are conceding the fourth-fewest shots in the division.

Sheffield United are averaging just 7.71 shots per away game. They have already faced Manchester City and Arsenal (Liverpool’s title rivals) on the road this season. The Blades managed just six attempts across both of those matches with under 5.5 winning in both.

  • Selection: Under 5.5 Shots For Sheffield United (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Chelsea vs Manchester United: Most Shots Conceded in 2024

England, Premier League, Thursday, 4th April, 20:15 (UK)

Chelsea’s season is in danger of fizzling out. They are fighting to make it into the top half of the Premier League but that is the summit of their ambitions in that competition. The FA Cup gives them the opportunity to turn this season into a memorable one but they will need to raise their game against Manchester City. Mauricio Pochettino’s side drew 2-2 with Burnley in their last match.

Manchester United are having struggles of their own. Earning a place in the Champions League looks increasingly unlikely. Brentford hammered them despite earning a point at the weekend.  Erik Ten Hag’s approach continues to perplex as we enter the final matches.

Pochettino’s side should have plenty of chances here. There are gaping holes in the United set up for them to exploit. They managed 13 attempts in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford but expect more here.

Ten Hag’s side have conceded the most shots in the Premier League in 2024. They have played six away matches in the league during that period and conceded an average of 21.17 shots per game.

  • Selection: Over 15.5 Shots For Chelsea (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 9/10
