Cruzeiro’s form has taken a slight hit of late but this can be justified by their midweek appearances in the Copa Sudamericana. Playing acth up on a couple of fixtures has had an impact on the squad, but they should have more than enough to see off Atletico GO – who are rock bottom with 18 points.

Atletico GO have won two in a row for the first time this season, ending a 15 match winless run in the process. But diving deeper into those defeats, Internacional were poor in front of goal in their narrow 1-0 loss despite dominating the match. Juventude equalised in the 91st minute – and deservedly so – before a 100th minute penalty fell in favour of the hosts.

But on the road it has been five consecutive defeats in a row for Atletico. Flamengo, Palmeiras and Bragantino easily brushed them to one side.

And while Cruzeiro are attempting to return back to form, it’s worth noting they have one of the best home records in the league. Having won 25 points from 10 matches, Cruzeiro have only lost one match and that was against Fortaleza who are top.

That particular game wasn’t played at Cruzeiro’s usual ground, too. A comfortable home win looks too good to ignore here, as a rare tracked selection is added to the asian handicap line.

Cruzeiro vs Atletico GO Prediction 2: Dangerous Dinenno

Juan Ignacio Dinenno De Cara – we’ll stick with Dinenno going forward – has been a welcome addition to the squad since his arrival from Mexico. The 29-year-old has scored eight goals in 18 appearances, including a 26 minute brace against Vitoria last time out in the league.

Since returning from injury, he’s slowly been introduced back into the starting XI, but since his brace, the Argentine has been trusted to lead the line.

One of Dinenno’s best attributes is his ability to leap high, use his strength, and direct thumping headers accurately towards goal. 

However, far from a one trick pony, the Argentine can be trusted to take penalties when on the pitch, bully defenders off the ball and create spaces inside the box.

His presence will disrupt Atletico GO’s defence, and a return to calmer waters should see the forward get back on the scoresheet against one of the weakest teams in the league.

Cruzeiro vs Atletico GO Prediction 3: Clean sheet on the cards

Atletico GO may have a couple of wins under their belt, but they were on home soil, and on the road it has been a completely different story. They’ve now gone three away matches without a point or goal.

After looking fairly threatening and scoring against Palmeiras and Cruzeiro, they looked out of ideas and against Flamengo in particular, and were incredibly poor with their decision making in the final third.

Cruzeiro, as I’ve already mentioned, has been very solid at home. Having only conceded seven goals in front of their own fans, it’s worth stating that they have only conceded five in nine matches at Mineirao Stadium – which is where this match will take place.

Key investment has made the hosts a competitive team in the top flight, and if they are to chase a Libertadores spot, they must be comfortably winning these kind of matches.

Both teams not to score is almost 1.50, and so it makes sense to back the visitors once again struggling to find a way through their opponent on the road at close to evens.
