Crystal Palace vs Manchester City: Pep’s Men Can Keep Palace at Arms Length
England, Premier League, Saturday, 6th April, 12:30 (UK)
Crystal Palace are eight points clear of the relegation zone. It would take a woeful run of the results for them to be dragged back into the relegation battle. However, Oliver Glasner has won just one of his five matches as Eagles boss. It would take a monumental performance for them to topple Pep Guardiola’s side.
Manchester City are three points off the top of the league and have an inferior goal difference. They are no strangers to gruelling title races but they will likely need to be perfect from now until the end of May if they are going to win four consecutive Premier League titles.
The Eagles’ matches have seen the third most tackles in the division with an average of 38.86 per game but recent head-to-heads with the Premier League champions have seen far less. There were 27 tackles when they visited the Etihad earlier in the season. The last meeting between the sides at Selhurst Park saw 25 tackles.
Pep Guardiola’s side looks to open gaps in the opposition defence by moving the ball around and their matches see very few tackles as a result. Their Premier League matches this season have seen 29.07 tackles on average.
- Selection: Under 32.5 Tackles In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.83
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
Everton vs Burnley: Another Cagey Affair?
England, Premier League, Saturday, 6th April, 15:00 (UK)
Both of these sides are fighting for their lives as we approach the final weeks of the season. Everton are four points above the bottom three and could put a nice cushion between themselves and the drop here. Sean Dyche’s side have already beaten Burnley this season but they come into Saturday’s encounter without a win in 10 matches.
Burnley won the Championship last season but they have seldom looked like surviving in the top flight. Nottingham Forest’s pints deduction provided them with a lifeline but they are still six points from safety coming into the weekend. Vincent Kompany’s side are unbeaten in their last four games but need a win here.
The Toffees beat Burnley at Goodison Park in the League Cup in November. There were just 17 shots in that match. The league meeting at Turf Moor saw 23 attempts.
The Clarets’ league matches this season have seen an average of 26.52 shots. They are averaging just 8.93 shots per away game and while they should exceed that mark here, backing unders in the match still looks like the way to go.
- Selection: Under 28.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Fulham vs Newcastle: Howe’s Men to Let Fly
England, Premier League, Saturday, 6th April, 15:00 (UK)
Fulham are firmly in mid-table so there is very little for them to play for in the remaining matches. Marco Silva will be keen to ensure performance levels don’t drop too much as the team aims to finish as high as possible but that could be easier said than done. Fulham lost their last match against Nottingham Forest 3-1.
Newcastle are up to 8th in the table. A strong finish to the season could see them qualify for Europe despite dealing with a plethora of injuries. The Magpies could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Everton midweek.
Marco Silva’s side have conceded 14 shots or more in four of their last five Premier League matches at Craven Cottage. Their opponents are averaging 17.4 shots per game over that period. Fulham are conceding an average of 13.87 shots per game in the league this season.
Newcastle had 17 shots in their 1-1 draw with Everton. They had 27 shots in the reverse fixture against Fulham earlier in the season and 19 shots the last time they faced them at this ground in the league.
- Selection: Over 13.5 Shots For Newcastle (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
Brighton vs Arsenal: De Zerbi’s Willingness to Attack
England, Premier League, Saturday, 6th April, 17:30 (UK)
Brighton could only manage a 0-0 draw against Brentford midweek. They were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal earlier in the season and lost 4-2 the last time they played the Gunners at this ground. Roberto De Zerbi’s future is the source of much speculation with several top clubs set to change managers in the summer. He will want to finish the campaign on a high so expect an intriguing match here.
Mikel Arteta chose to give some of his fringe players a start as Arsenal beat Luton 2-0 at the Emirates on Wednesday night. They are two points behind Liverpool in the title race and cannot afford any slip-ups if they want to end their long wait to lift the Premier League trophy.
De Zerbi’s side are forcing an average of 7.36 goal kicks per league game at the Amex Arena. Their opponents have had seven goal kicks or more in their last six league matches with an average of 9.5..
Arsenal have the best defence in the division so as you’d expect, they don’t have too many goal-kicks. However, they had seven at home to Luton midweek. The Gunners had eight goal kicks in this fixture last season so the line looks a little low.
- Selection: Over 5.5 Goal Kicks For Arsenal (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.72
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Manchester United vs Liverpool: Chaotic United Provide Opportunity
England, Premier League, Sunday, 7th April, 15:30 (UK)
Manchester United capitulated in the final minutes of their game at Stamford Bridge midweek as they slumped to their 17th defeat of the season. That’s the most losses they have suffered since the 1989/90 campaign. Erik Ten Hag’s defensive setup has been questionable this season but he is unlikely to change things in the final weeks.
Liverpool have a slender advantage at the top of the Premier League as they aim to win the title in Jurgen Klopp’s final season. They are the favourites here and are out for revenge after being dumped out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford last month.
The last clash between these two great rivals was a thoroughly entertaining affair. The teams went at it hammer and tongs. There were 48 throws in regulation time as a result. There have been 41 throws or more on the four occasions Ten Hag’s side have faced Liverpool.
Klopp’s side’s Premier League away matches in 2024 have seen an average fo 45.75 throws per game and this bet has won in three of the four matches.
- Selection: Over 37.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.90
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 9/10
Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest: Physical Battle to Ensue
England, Premier League, Sunday, 7th April, 18:00 (UK)
Tottenham could only manage a 1-1 draw with West Ham in their last match but they are still on course to secure a place in the Champions League. The Premier League is likely to be awarded an additional qualifying place and Ange Postecoglou’s side are the ones who would benefit currently.
Nottingham Forest‘s win over Fulham midweek saw them move three points clear of the relegation. The club were rocked by a six-point deduction but fancy their chances of survival even if the ruling isn’t overturned. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have picked up five points from their last three matches.
Ange Postecoglou likes his teams to play with a high line and engage the opposition high up the pitch. Therefore, Tottenham matches have seen the second most tackles in England’s top-flight with an average of 39.48 per game.
Nuno’s side are averaging 21 tackles per away game this calendar year so should contribute to a hefty tackles count here. There were 48 tackles when the teams last faced each other and we should see plenty once again.
- Selection: Over 37.5 Tackles In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 2.00
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
