Super Tipsters Premier League Super Bets: October 1st-3rd

The Premier League returns this weekend after what seemed like a rather long international break. It’s an action-packed weekend straight away and there are two big fixtures to go with. London takes centre stage as Arsenal welcome rivals Tottenham for a crunch clash while the two Manchester outfits will lock horns for bragging rights at the Etihad Stadium. As always, our Super Tipsters are on-hand to deliver their picks for the action this weekend.

In this article:

Arsenal vs Tottenham Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st 12:30 (UK Time)

The 192nd edition of the North London derby has more than just bragging rights to it as whoever wins will remain or go top of the table for sure. Though this fixture has been rather unpredictable in recent years, Tottenham have slightly had the upper hand. Including a 3-0 victory when both sides last met in May but they will meet a new-look Arsenal side this time around.

The Gunners know that to do better than recent seasons, they must start to claim maximum points than this and based on the recent form of both sides, they are slight favourites to win this time around.

  • BE Patient: Arsenal to win
  • DelPiero28: Over 2.5 goals
  • Maradona1: Over 2.5 goals
  • Nikolaqq: Over 2.5 goals
  • Tiresia: Over 2.75 goals

Bournemouth vs Brentford Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st, 15:00 (UK Time)

It’s all going on behind the scenes at Bournemouth with a takeover deal nearing completion alongside a new manager search which will have rumbled on for over a month should it not be resolved before kick-off. In the meantime, interim boss Gary O’Neil has done a brilliant job in steadying the ship since Scott Parker’s exit, ending a three-game losing run of Premier League matches with five points from a possible nine.

Brentford have made a similar start to Bournemouth in terms of PL results (W2, D3, L2), yet scoring almost three times as many goals as their hosts. A 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out was only Brentford’s second defeat of the campaign, but losing to “title contenders” as boss Thomas Frank put it, is not the end of the world.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st, 15:00 (UK Time)

Crystal Palace have been out of action for almost a month due to the Queen’s passing, train strikes and the international break, so they must be eager to resume their Premier League campaign. It is quite the opposite for Chelsea as this will be Graham Potter’s first Premier League match in charge of the Blues – and he will be looking to make a positive impression after their 1-1 Champions League draw with RB Salzburg.

Fulham vs Newcastle Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st, 15:00 (UK Time)

The overwhelming majority of Fulham fans will be delighted to see 11 points on the board after just seven games – over a quarter of the way to the much talked about 40-point survival mark.

Fulham perhaps couldn’t have handpicked a better opponent than Newcastle to secure another win considering they’ve won 12 Premier League games against the Magpies, their joint-highest number against a side. Yet the absence of João Palhinha who misses out through suspension will undoubtedly hurt Fulham, but with Aleksandar Mitrović grabbing six goals in seven PL games and on the back of an international hat-trick for Serbia, the red-hot forward will be gunning for the visit of his former employers.

Liverpool vs Brighton Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st, 15:00 (UK Time)

Liverpool enjoyed a longer break than most considering their Premier League (PL) match prior to the international break was postponed, with their fans hoping the extra time off will help in shaking off their early season cobwebs. Jürgen Klopp’s men already have a mountain to climb if they’re to reignite a title challenge, and failure to win here could be an irreversible setback, while also resulting in their worst seven-match league start in a decade.

If Liverpool look four points and four places above them in the PL table, they’ll see opponents Brighton. They face Liverpool in a top-flight match whilst higher than them in the standings for only the second time in their history. The Seagulls have flocked to Anfield with some success recently too, going unbeaten in their last two visits, though both results came under the guidance of the now departed Graham Potter and it remains to be seen what Roberto De Zerbi’s tenure would bring.

  • Nemanjal87: Brighton +1.5 AH
  • DelPiero28: Over 2.5 goals
  • Odiamenhi081: Over 2.75 goals

Southampton vs Everton Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st, 15:00 (UK Time)

A 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa prior to the international break left Southampton looking back on consecutive Premier League (PL) defeats ‘to-nil’ for the first time since May 2021. With Southampton going the whole of September without a home game, this fixture may provide respite, especially as the Saints have overcome Everton in five of the previous six H2Hs at St Mary’s.

Everton themselves will travel with newfound confidence though, following a 1-0 victory over West Ham, which saw them avoid an unprecedented winless seven-game start to a 38-game PL season. Despite their relatively poor start to the season, the Toffees spent the international break with the joint second-best defensive record in the league – equal with last season’s top-two.

  • GREENS: Under 2.5 goals

West Ham vs Wolves Super Bets

Saturday, October 1st, 17:30 (UK Time)

After consecutive top seven Premier League (PL) finishes, things have not been so rosy for West Ham United this term, winning just once and starting the round inside the relegation zone. Manager David Moyes finds himself under pressure and he admitted after the 1-0 loss to Everton in the last round that he was “let down” by some of his first-team regulars.

It has been a similarly miserable start to the season for Wolves, who sit just two points ahead of West Ham and perched precariously above the bottom 3. Bruno Lage’s men also have problems in front of goal, netting just three league goals, of which only one came on the road. League form has been an issue for a while too as they’ve won just one of their last 14 matches, a run that stretches back to early April.

Manchester City vs Manchester United Super Bets

Sunday, October 2nd, 14:00 (UK Time)

Another edition of the Manchester derby is here and we can expect drama once again. Manchester City have made a strong start to their Premier League campaign and are easily favourites to retain their crown. Alongside Tottenham, City are one of only two unbeaten sides this term and they will look to keep that intact.

Though United’s new-found form makes this one difficult to predict, Haaland could be the difference once again and he will fancy his prospects at the thought of a defence that has blown hot and cold this term.

  • Odiamenhi081: Man City -1 AH
  • Martinou: Man City -1.5 AH

Leeds vs Aston Villa Bets

Sunday, October 2nd, 16:30 (UK Time)

Jesse Marsch will have to watch from the stands as Leeds finally return to action after nearly a month without a game. The Leeds boss received a touchline ban for his conduct during the 5-2 defeat to Brentford at the start of September, and after a couple of postponements coupled with an international break, his side can finally return to action at a packed-out Elland Road.

Villa clearly have problems on the road though, given they have lost four successive PL away games, despite scoring the opening goal in defeats to Manchester City (3-2) and Crystal Palace (3-1). Perhaps those hopes of ending that losing streak will receive a boost from a return to Elland Road then, where Villa have lost only once in ten top-flight games, since 1995.

  • BE Patient: Leeds -0.5 AH
  • GREENS: Leeds DNB

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Super Bets

Monday, October 3rd, 20:00 (UK Time)

Two of the league’s worst sides faceoff this season in a battle for three points that could mean so much more – especially for Brendan Rodgers who sees his job as Leicester manager hanging by a thread.

Both sides have now lost their last four consecutive outings but it has been worse for the hosts, with a 6-2 defeat to Tottenham last time out meaning they have now conceded a whopping 11 times in their last two games.
Another defeat at home and it could be the end of Rodgers at the King Power stadium.
