Northampton vs Doncaster Preview & Best Bet

Starting off in League 2 with my opening selection as 4th placed Northampton host a Doncaster side in 5th for a clash that should see goals at Sixfields Stadium. Both sides have played five games this season with a combined nine from ten games seeing every team score.

Sam Hoskins has been banging in the goals for the hosts, scoring seven times in just five outings and has recorded back-to-back braces. Doncaster have scored two goals in each of their last four matches and should arrive here in confidence as they look to extend an unbeaten run.

Given the impressive starts to the campaign from both sides and the fact there has been plenty of goals for and against, backing BTTS and over 2.50 match goals at odds against looks a great bet on Saturday afternoon.

Fiorentina vs Napoli Preview

Italy, Serie A, Sunday, August 28th, 19:45 (UK)

Napoli couldn’t have started the season much better in Italy, they’ve won back-to-back games in convincing fashion scoring nine in total with six different scorers opening their accounts for the season.

Fiorentina conceded twice against newcomers Cremonese on the opening day despite taking all three points and they had a goalless draw away to Empoli who finished with ten men.

Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have been the standout performers for Napoli and have both scored in the opening two matches, given Napoli are best priced at 1.91 to score twice in Florence. It’s a price I can’t turn away from.

The last five competitive meetings between the sides have seen this selection bank as well as the last three exact league clashes. Napoli have been terrific in the opening stages and I can’t see why they won’t be able to score a couple at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday night.

Philadelphia vs Colorado Rapids Preview

USA, MLS, Sunday, August 28th, 00:30 (UK)

The best side for home record in the Eastern Conference welcome the worst away performers in the Western Conference in the early hours of Sunday morning and a goals-based selection is definitely the right play here.

Philadelphia Union’s previous five home games have seen 24 goals in total with three plus coming in each fixture. Colorado’s last five away clashes have seen 22 match goals scored with again three or more goals scored in every one of those five.

The goal line is set at 2.75 for this clash which seems a little low given the recent results for each club, we need to see at least three goals for a payout and with the last 10 combined matches seeing three or more goals it certainly gives a good reading.

Daniel Gazdag and Julian Carranza have been in great scoring form for the home side and should be looking to get themselves on the scorsheet once again at Subaru Park.

Despite being outsiders to win the match Colorado have scored in each of their last ten matches in the MLS and should be contributing to the goals in Chester.

PSG vs Monaco Preview

France, Ligue 1, Sunday, August 28th, 19:45 (UK)

PSG have been unstoppable in France this season, they have scored an astonishing 17 times in just three matches and face a Monaco side who most recently lost 4-1 at home to Lens so confidence levels will be at an all time low heading to the capital.

Neymar, Mbappe and Messi have scored 12 goals between them in the opening three matches and the trio scored six between them against Lille last time out.

The goal line is set at 4 which is understandable given the ruthlessness of the front three however all three games so far have seen two or more first-half goals and at a price of 1.80 for a repeat, I will be selecting it as my fourth selection.

PSG vs Monaco Best Bet

PSG have only won twice in the last five clashes against Monaco but this could be another massacre if Monaco aren’t up to standards. Mbappe scored within 10 seconds last weekend which saw them score seven in 90 minutes.

If the incredible PSG attack turns up in Paris then we could quite easily see two or more goals scored within the first half.

Dumbarton vs Elgin Preview

Scotland, League 2, Saturday, August 27th, 15:00 (UK)

For my final selection, we’re heading to Scotland’s League 2 as Dumbarton host Elgin at the C&G Systems Stadium.

The hosts have won all four games this campaign scoring 11 and have conceded twice. Elgin are yet to win despite scoring 7 in four matches however they have conceded nine times.

There has been exactly four goals scored in all four games involving Elgin with each of the last three matches ending 2-2. All of the last three matches Dumbarton have played have seen three or more goals scored, the price on offer for overs looks very reasonable.

With a combined seven games from eight seeing this bet land this season involving these teams the price art 1.80 definitely stood out, both sides should be contributing here but ultimately the hosts should come out on top.
