I’ve got a Friday night bet builder of 11.00 odds as two sides with different ambitions battle for three crucial points at the Molineux Stadium.
In this article:
It is a tale of two sides as European-chasing Wolves welcome relegation-escaping aspirants in Leeds for a match that could come with many implications.
The hosts remain within touching distance of the top-six and will continue to harbour hopes though anything other than victory could see them slip by the end of the weekend. A win for Bruno Lage’s men could momentarily move them up to 6th place and they could remain there if other results go their way.
For Leeds, a last-gasp winner against struggling Norwich saw them gasp with relief after suffering six consecutive losses on the bounce. The Whites are only four points above the relegation zone (16th) and further losses at this stage could put them in real danger of suffering the drop.
It is worth noting that Everton have three games in hand and only need to pick four points from nine to be level with Leeds.

Given the stakes at hand, one can expect a hard-fought encounter but I am still backing Wolves to get a result here. The hosts’ water-tight defence will be their advantage as their 23 goals conceded so far means only the top three sides have let in fewer goals.
It is a rather different story with Leeds who are now 15 games without a clean-sheet, the longest of any side in the league. It is a new era under Jesse Marsch but the Whites have suffered more of the same and a win over bottom side Norwich cannot exactly be classed as an improvement.
Leeds have suffered heavy defeats in recent times, including 3-0, 4-0 and 6-0 losses to Aston Villa, Tottenham and Liverpool respectively. However, I am backing this game to end in a low-scoring affair as both sides will want to be cautious.
Raul Jimenez will fancy his chances at grabbing a goal here, given the visitors’ poor defensive record. Their knack for being on the offensive has often been their Achilles heel but I don’t see Wolves scoring too much regardless.
Leeds can indeed get something out of this game but it depends on if they can actually sort themselves at the back and all of the facts seem to disagree with that.
Some players are more susceptible to bookings than others and the likely culprit for Leeds is Luke Ayling. Last time out, I backed Gallagher to be booked against City (which played out correctly) and I think that may be the case with Ayling as well. The Whites are known for their physical approach and most of their games often end with bookings.
Raphina will always remain a threat no matter what and he could be one of their danger men if Leeds are to get anything from this game. Jimenez will be aiming to capitalise on a woeful defence and he could ultimately get his chance via a penalty.

A bet builder is a kind of accumulator bet solely focussed on one match. A standard acca features multiple selections across different selections combined together into one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to the American prop bet, the bet builder goes into detail on a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
