Free Serie A Predictions and Betting Tips
Italy has a fantastic football culture and is the home to timeless clubs like Juventus, Inter Milan, Napoli, and AC Milan which have left a permanent mark on European football. Serie A is one of the most thrilling leagues in Europe and has shed the reputation of tough, tactical football and welcomed a more free-flowing game.
The wait is finally over for fans of tactical mastery and passionate football as the 2026/27 Serie A season kicks off on 23\08\2026! Known for its defensive rigour, fiery derbies, and absolute tactical chess matches, Italy’s top flight is set for another spectacular campaign. In this comprehensive Serie A review, we will unearth the best betting value, dissect the start-of-the-season favourites, and identify the unfortunate clubs destined for a bitter relegation scrap. For those seeking sharp Serie A tips, this is your definitive guide to navigating the complexities of Italian football. Before we dive headfirst into the new campaign, we must acknowledge the colossal figures who dominated the 2025/26 season:
Best scorer: Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan) captured the Capocannoniere crown with a clinical 17 league goals.
Most assists: Federico Dimarco (Inter Milan) showcased his electric pace and vision to top the playmaking charts, and set a new all-time Serie A assists record for a single season, with 18.
Best player of the season: Federico Dimarco was the undisputed MVP, given his record-breaking season.
Winner prediction for Serie A
While the race for the Scudetto is often tightly contested, we are backing Inter Milan to retain their crown and assert domestic dominance. At current odds of 2.75, the Nerazzurri offer sensible value for those locking in early Serie A betting tips.
Here is exactly why they are primed to lift the trophy in May 2027:
Tactical continuity: Cristian Chivu has seamlessly taken the managerial reins, maintaining their robust 3-5-2 system.
Formidable spine: With Alessandro Bastoni marshalling the defence and Hakan Çalhanoğlu dictating the midfield, their core is impenetrable.
Attacking firepower: The lethal combination of Lautaro Martínez and new £23 million arrival Ange-Yoan Bonny guarantees a steady stream of goals.
Who are Start-of-the-Season Favorites?
Unsurprisingly, the bookmakers have designated the traditional northern powerhouses as the overwhelming frontrunners. Inter Milan sit at the top of the outright market, but they are closely trailed by Juventus at 3.50. The Old Lady have invested heavily during the summer transfer window, desperately seeking to reclaim their former glory after watching their bitter rivals dominate recent seasons. Armed with a wage bill comfortably exceeding £120 million, the Turin giants possess a squad brimming with international pedigree. When a team can call upon the ruthless finishing of Dušan Vlahović to break down stubborn defensive blocks, they will always command immense respect in the betting markets.
Meanwhile, AC Milan round out the top three favourites at a very tempting 5.00. The Rossoneri boast arguably the most explosive left flank in European football, driven by the sheer brilliance of Rafael Leão. However, punters must consider the physical demands of balancing a fierce title charge with Champions League commitments. As the old Italian proverb goes, you cannot have a full barrel and a drunk wife – meaning squad rotation will be absolutely critical. Napoli (Partenopei) and Atalanta (La Dea) linger slightly further back in the odds, but the true battle for the summit looks destined to be a brutal, three-horse race between Italy’s most decorated institutions.

Serie A relegation candidates?
The battle for survival at the foot of the table is often where the most dramatic narratives unfold, and this season promises to be a gruelling dogfight. Identifying the weakest links early on is a highly profitable strategy for bettors targeting the relegation markets or negative Asian handicaps.
Cagliari find themselves heavily fancied for the drop at odds of 2.10. The Sardinian outfit narrowly escaped the trapdoor last term, but their over-reliance on ageing stalwarts and a glaring lack of investment leaves them incredibly vulnerable. When a club operates on a shoestring budget in a league renowned for its tactical sophistication, the structural cracks inevitably begin to show.
Joining them in the danger zone are Como 1907, priced at 2.50. Despite the romanticism surrounding their project and the backing of wealthy owners, the reality of balancing Serie A survival with a daunting debut Champions League campaign could prove disastrous. The sheer volume of high-intensity fixtures will push their squad depth to the absolute limit. We have seen it time and time again: teams exhaust their resources under the midweek European lights, only to suffer crippling domestic hangovers at the weekend. If Cesc Fàbregas fails to manage his players’ minutes meticulously, Como could easily find themselves sliding back into the second tier.
Interesting details from past seasons of Serie A
Sharpening your betting edge requires a deep appreciation of historical trends, and Italy’s top flight is full of fascinating statistical quirks. Historically, Serie A has been heavily influenced by the concept of Catenaccio – a tactical system prioritising defensive solidity above all else. While the modern game has become far more expansive, this defensive DNA remains deeply ingrained. In fact, over the last decade, the team boasting the tightest defensive record has gone on to win the Scudetto in eight out of ten seasons.
Another intriguing anomaly is the immense weight of home advantage, particularly in the notoriously intimidating southern stadiums. Grounds like the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona or the Via del Mare are cauldrons of noise, historically resulting in a significantly higher percentage of home wins compared to other top European leagues.
What awaits us in 26/27 Serie A and what can we expect?
As we look towards the grand opening weekend, the landscape of Italian football is incredibly vibrant. We welcome the return of three promoted sides from Serie B: Venezia, Frosinone, and Monza, who replace the relegated trio of Cremonese, Hellas Verona, and Pisa. These returning clubs will inject fresh energy, new tactical setups, and a fierce determination to cement their top-flight status.
What can we expect from the 2026/27 campaign? Prepare for a season defined by masterclass tactical battles, dramatic late equalisers, and the undeniable passion that only Italian football can provide. With the newly promoted teams desperate to disrupt the established order and the heavyweights locked in an arms race for the title, the betting markets will be incredibly volatile. Armed with our Serie A tips and data-driven insights, you are now perfectly positioned to tackle the new season and find those crucial pockets of value.
Serie A Tips by bettingexpert
The Italian league has been notorious for bettors because many assume that a lot of matches are fixed, but on this level and the number of matches, that shouldn’t be the case. Instead, it’s hard to predict the matches because of their playstyle. They scored fewer goals than other top leagues like Bundesliga or Premier League.
Tipsters on bettingexpert are quite familiar with Serie A stats and they carefully analyse every match before making a prediction. At every event, you can find community tips and on some a full match preview with an additional betting tip. This way, you will have enough information to decide which bet to make.
Italian Serie A Stats
Italian football has always been on the radar for fixed matches but that will always be a part of football. Statistics are quite similar to La Liga which is the lowest for the number of goals scored per match. Italian Serie A is at 2.56 goals per match and 50% for Both Teams to Score. They are on the top when it comes to away wins, standing at 31%.

The last season of Italian football was dominated by Napoli and they are looking great this season as well. Inter Milan will try to get back on the throne since the 2020/21 season, but even if Junvetus finished in 7th place, the odds of them winning are quite low.

Serie A Competition Format
Each team will play a total of 38 games this season. Traditionally, the league format also means that the team with the most points at the end of the season will get to be crowned the Serie A champion.
The top four Italian teams will earn qualification to the Champions League next season. At the same time, the fifth team will earn a spot in the Europa League group stage qualification, while the sixth team on the table will get to play in the Conference League play-off round.
As before, the last three teams on the table will be relegated to Serie B and will be replaced by top teams from the second-tier league of Italian football.
Serie A Past Winners
Italians live and breathe football, so capturing the Scudetto means a lot to the fans. In its most recent history, Juventus has been the most dominant club in Italian football, with nine titles in a row. The only other teams that managed to win titles in this span were Inter and AC Milan.
But this season is shaping up to be one of the most interesting seasons to date. According to our predictions, all three teams have almost an equal chance to win the trophy and put a smile on their Tifosi faces, while the previous season’s winner, Napoli, are also in serious contention.
