We’ve got Arsenal vs Wolves bet builder tips for their Premier League meeting this Sunday, May 28th. It’s the final day of a season that has provided plenty of ups and downs for both clubs.
For the Gunners, this match is about ending a disappointing season on a high. For a long time, the title looked a real possibility but a late-season slump put a halt to that. Relegation seemed inevitable for Wolves before the arrival of Julen Lopetegui. With the Spainiard’s future in doubt, minds will already be on the summer and next season.
In this article:
England, Premier League, Sunday, May 28th, 16:30 (UK)
After leading for 30/38 matchdays in the Premier League, Arsenal will not be rewarded with a title at the end of it. Manchester City’s remarkable run of form – and the Gunners’ own collapse – means the title will remain in the hands of Pep Guardiola’s side for another year.
The Gunners’ downturn in form cannot be ignored. They’ve won just two of their last eight Premier League matches. Since taking a two-goal lead at Anfield in April, Arsenal have conceded 16 times, scoring just 11 in reply.
A win here and they’ll finish on 84 points in the Premier League. Their highest tally since the Invincible season of 2003/04. An impressive feat but it’s a season that promised so much more for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The tale of Wolves’ season is one of two halves. They stunk of relegation in the first half. When the league broke for the World Cup, Wolves had found the net just eight times in 15 matches.
They sat rock bottom after the reverse fixture between these sides – the final match before the World Cup. Arsenal won 2-0 after a brace from captain Martin Odegaard.
New manager Julen Lopetegui watched from the stands that day and officially took charge after it. His impact has been tremendous. Wolves climbed to lower midtable where they stayed until the end. They remain the lowest scorers in the Premier League but their safety has been secured for another season.
Despite their recent slump, I expect Arsenal to win this match comfortably. The pressure is off and Wolves have little to play for. The focus for the Gunners will be to finish this season on a high despite the disappointing recent form.
The Gunners have won 17 matches by at least two goals this season. Only a handful of teams have won more games by any margin of victory. I expect them to add to that figure against a Wolves side that hasn’t kept a clean sheet away from home in the league since August.
Backing both teams to score has been the go-to plan when Arsenal have played at home this season. The Gunners have kept clean sheets in just three of their matches at the Emirates. Only Southampton have kept fewer clean sheets at home this season than the Gunners have.
Still, I expect that to end here. If there was ever an opponent to end that run against, it’s a Wolves side that has scored fewer than any other Premier League team this campaign. Adding Arsenal to win to nil boosts the odds of this builder.
Lastly, I’m expecting Gabriel Jesus to play a key role in proceedings. Arsenal’s number 9 hasn’t found the net for several matches but it’s not for a lack of trying. The striker isn’t shot shy and has averaged 4 shots per match in Arsenal’s home fixtures this season. Only Aleksandar Mitrovic has averaged more in his side’s home matches. Over 3.5 shots boosts those odds up to 4.20.

A bet builder is a type of accumulator bet focused on a single match. A traditional acca features multiple selections across different matches. These selections are combined to create one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to American prop bets, bet builders give you the chance to bet on a combination of events in a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
