Update: 04/10/2021

Fulham started this season as the favourites in the Championship promotion odds and that remains the case. Marco Silva’s men aren’t the runaway leaders that some expected. The Cottagers sit comfortably in the playoffs with 20 points from 11 matches. The bookies expect them to recover and to make up the gap before the season is out. It would be their third promotion in five years.

West Brom started this season amongst the favourites in the Championship promotion odds and they’re still there. It would be a second promotion in three years for the Baggies who went down last year.

AFC Bournemouth complete the frontrunners. The Cherries are top of the Championship table so it’s no surprise to see short odds with the bookies. Bournemouth have the best defensive record in the division and the bookies think that will give them a good chance of promotion.

Some clubs have dropped off in the rankings. Sheffield United were 2.88 to go up before the season but are now out at 5.00. That’s a sizeable jump but not as large as Cardiff City’s leap. The Bluebirds were 5.00 to go up before things kicked off but they’re out at 12.00 after a poor few months.

As some teams have fallen off, others have taken their place in the Championship promotion odds. Stoke started this season as 6.00 outsiders but are now down to 3.75 and the fourth-favourites.

Championship Promotion Odds 2022

Championship odds for promotion represent the possibility of a given club winning promotion from England’s second-tier this season.

The three promotion spots are fiercely contested. They are awarded to the sides in 1st and 2nd place as well as whichever team wins the playoffs. The sides that finish between 3rd and 6th complete in a knockout playoff tournament with the final at Wembley deciding the winner.

If you back a side in the Championship odds for promotion, it doesn’t matter how they go up. They could win the league, finish 2nd or get through via the playoffs and the bet will still win.

It’s important to note that the Championship odds for promotion are only valid for this season. If you back a side to go up and they aren’t promoted this year but are the following season, the bet still loses.

But it’s not only about forecasting the season. Championship odds for promotion are valid throughout the season. Many punters will let the season unfold and try to find betting value along the way.

Championship odds for promotion welcome in far more sides because a team can take any one of the three slots. That is how it’s different to the Championship league odds which only look at the side finishing 1st.
